This two-hour experience takes place in the studio of celebrated tango dancer and choreographer Gisela Vidal. Through a private workshop, you’ll explore the fundamentals of tango—from musicality and posture to the nonverbal connection between lead and follow. Gisela’s approach makes space for both technique and emotion.

After dancing, you’ll sit with Gisela over mate (herbal infusion) or wine to reflect on tango’s evolution, her global career and the emotional qualities that make tango a living art. The final part of the experience offers a window into Gisela’s creative practice as a jewelry designer. You’ll explore how tango’s gestures, shapes, and symbolism have influenced her tango-inspired jewelry—shaped by the same rhythm, elegance and emotional nuance she brings to her dance. In this extended version of her private class, Gisela’s instruction helps you find your rhythm and presence, then opens space for personal expression through movement. Growing up in Buenos Aires, Gisela Vidal danced her first tango at the age of 14. From there, she trained extensively in Tango Salon and Tango Stage style with the finest Argentinian Masters. Besides tango, Gisela has studied contemporary dance, jazz, belly dance, ballet, Argentine folk, and salsa. She has undertaken further tuition in theater and film acting, mime and clown art, and singing.

Gisela has participated in international tango festivals and major events including the opening of the Dakar 2009 in Buenos Aires. She was the choreographer and a stunt dancer for the Tango Infedele Video Clip.

During her 20-year career, Gisela has danced and coached in over 40 countries. She co-managed a tango school in Milan and coordinated the Tango Querido School in Tuscany. She launched her own jewelry business in 2018.

Return to Imlil

After an early breakfast, we’ll set off for the summit of Toubkal, nearly 1000m above us. Technically this is not a difficult ascent, but it is demanding with sections of scrambling and loose scree – depending on fitness a climb of 3 or 4 hours. The views from the top are worth it though looking out into the plain of Marrakech and the Sahara.

Day 2 of the summit experience is demanding, with 8-9 hours of trekking in total across the full day.

The summit of Toubkal offers extensive views over the Atlas Mountains and the desert, a reward well worth the climb’s challenge.


Toubkal Refuge to Summit

The trek starts in Imlil, traversing lush landscapes to reach the pilgrimage site of Sidi Chamarouch. Here we will have a picnic lunch, before continuing up the mule trail to the Toubkal refuge.

While Sidi Chamarouch’s shrine remains a spiritual site closed to non-Muslims, its market and cafes welcome all, providing a blend of spiritual and local commerce.

Imlil to Sidi Chamarouch

The path from Sidi Chamarouch to the Toubkal Refuge is a steep climb, taking you through increasingly barren yet striking mountain scenery. 

After a full day of ascent, you’ll reach the Toubkal Refuge—your base at 3,200 meters before summit day. Here, you’ll settle into a private/double room, and enjoy a proper dinner to refuel and acclimatize for the climb ahead.

Most trekkers sleep in dorm-style bunk rooms with shared bathrooms at the Toubkal Refuge, often alongside 10–20 others—conditions that don’t support privacy, comfort, or restful sleep. In contrast, this experience includes a private / double room shared only within your group, based on your preference, each with an ensuite bathroom. It’s a quieter, more restorative way to spend the night at altitude. Keep in mind, however, that these are simple and modest rooms. In rare situations when all private rooms are booked out, Ahmed will arrange private/double tents for your party -- these are comfortable, safe and provide a peaceful night's sleep (in this case, the bathrooms at the refuge will be used.)

Meals are freshly prepared and more generous than the standard dorm fare, with a focus on nourishment and recovery.
