Hosted by a professional photographer from Buenos Aires, this tango photography experience takes place in the vibrant neighborhood of La Boca. Playing out on the pedestrianized street of Caminito, you will meet two professional and award winning tango dancers before capturing incredible images of them performing to the backdrop of the colorful, mismatched tenement houses La Boca is famed for. Sporting full costume and make-up, the dancers are happy to answer any questions you have about this art form. 

The experience starts over a cup of coffee in a cafe where Bernardo will discuss the best camera settings for capturing tango on the street. He will address compositional tips, focusing techniques, and working with moving subjects. This is an opportunity to ask any questions and get to grips with the functionality of your camera or device (smartphones are welcome). As the activity progresses, he will continue to impart knowledge and mentor you throughout.

If you’re the kind of traveler who feels shy about photographing people on the street, then this experience takes care of that. Hosted by a professional Porteño photographer whose work appears in publications all over the world, you will partake in a private photography session with two tango dancers in La Boca. This dancing duo will be dressed in full costume and make-up and you will have the opportunity to chat before and during the experience—providing a rare access moment to learn about this art form from those who practice it and take a closer look at the fashion.The setting itself couldn't be more appropriate. After all, La Boca is one of the barrios of Buenos Aires where tango found its feet in the 19th century. 

Bernardo will art direct the shoot, indicating where and how the dancers should pose while at the same time assisting you with your camera settings and composition. All you need to worry about is taking compelling photos and feeling the rhythm!

Kyoto-based artist Rachel takes you on a relaxing journey exploring the breathtaking scenery of Kyoto's Higashiyama area where at each destination, she will teach you how to capture the elegant beauty of Kyoto using Japanese watercolors.

You will stroll through neighborhoods featuring temples, shrines, parks, and rustic buildings in search of inspiration, but at a gentle pace that allows you to see authentic life in Kyoto that you might miss by trying to maximize the number of highlights you can visit in one day. In fact, Rachel lets you set the pace for the day, whether you prefer to visit more locations to do some quick sketches or just a few doing in-depth sketching.

As you explore, Rachel will explain the rich history and culture about the places you will visit, paying close attention to the details and nuances a casual visitor might overlook. During your walk, you'll have time to enjoy a snack featuring a local Kyoto specialty, and of course, a tea to go along with it.

Drawing from her experience as a long-time resident artist of Kyoto, Rachel has selected an area with a variety of sketchable locations that are completely customizable based on seasons, weather, and your skills and interests. Whether it be the majestic Gion Weeping Cherry Tree in the Spring, stone-lined streets of Nene-no-Michi in Autumn, or a snow-dusted Yasaka Pagoda in the Winter, Rachel’s helpful instructions will have you creating a unique watercolor keepsake of your memories of Kyoto. An experienced educator, she has offered on-site sketching and painting classes in Kyoto for over 7 years, working with a full range of ages and experience levels. Her instruction style is personalized and supportive, aimed at giving participants both the practical skills and confidence to continue creating art of their own.

As the son of a local float constructor, Gianmario shares insight into behind-the-scenes stories of the artisans and their work. Starting the tour at his studio allows you to see his previous works.

The Nada Gogo area of Kobe City holds special significance in the sake brewing world. Sake brewing began here nearly 700 years ago, predating the commercial production of sake by three centuries. With its refined knowledge of sake production, Nada Gogo eventually provided 80% of the commercial sake consumed in the old capital of Edo, now Tokyo.

You’ll begin your tour with an elegant lunch in a preserved traditional house before visiting three of Nada Gogo’s outstanding breweries to learn how to appreciate the taste of sake. You’ll visit a local cantera mine and family-run workshops to see their creative process firsthand. The experience also includes a homemade meal with the family matriarch. The set menu is accompanied by non-alcoholic drinks and a cup of locally made mezcal.

You’ll be guided by a fourth-generation stone artisan who shares both his family’s legacy and his own artistic work. You’ll engage in meaningful conversation about the history of cantera and the role it continues to play in the region. Transportation is included, and Ehren will provide translation support if needed.

Maestro Oscar has exhibited his work throughout the state and recently held a solo show. He also collaborates with local government to help preserve the city’s architectural harmony.

His great-grandparents once excavated stone from mines governed under indigenous law, and his grandfather contributed to many of the cantera structures in and around the city—including the ornate fountains in the Zócalo. Ehren Seeland is a Oaxaca-based creative with a background in art and design and journalism, who travels the globe for professional and personal pursuits. A long-term resident of Oaxaca with family ties to the city, her passion for regional produce, traditional skills, and social impact makes her a fantastic host for the culturally curious and socially minded traveler.

Through all of her projects—including Hecho, a marketplace of artisan-made goods from natural materials—Ehren maintains an active focus on supporting Mexican ancestral traditions through handmade product development, including textiles, pottery, homewares, and other works. Her projects also place special emphasis on supporting women and indigenous communities.

This experience immerses you in the rich tradition of Karagöz, the ancient Turkish shadow puppetry that has entertained audiences since at least the 16th century. Guided by Cengiz Özek, a shadow theatre master, you’ll learn about the roots of this traditional art popularized in the Ottoman Empire and considered an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2009. Karagöz performances were a staple of Ottoman life, used as a platform for satire and social commentary, often held in coffeehouses and public squares​. 

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Cengiz’s atelier and craft your own shadow figure using traditional materials like camel leather. Afterward, you’ll perform a mini-play, gaining a unique insight into this captivating art form while conversing with Cengiz over Turkish tea and cookies.

First of all, we will meet with the attendees at our puppet museum located in, Faikpaşa Caddesi which is full of old buildings, antique and creative stores. We will make a small tour for the collection we have in the puppet museum from all over the world. After the small tour, we will have local tea and cookies with the attendees. We will start to explain the written history that we have from the beginning 16th century: how Karagöz traveled, how he expanded and how he lives today.  
Then we will get our tools to experience the process of making: 
- Deciding which part of Karagöz will be made, 
- shaping the camel leather with special tools(cutting, carving, piercing) 
- Painting the figure
(Tips of shaping the leather will be shared.)
Finally, with a full figure, all attendees see and experience of acting the figure on a shadow theatre curtain.

When asked about his love for Lisbon, Tiago’s enthusiasm is immediate: “I love my city! I really love the historic center of Lisbon!” Though he didn’t always feel that way. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.

remembering his family’s orchard. “I have good memories of my mother and my sister making lots of cakes—almond cakes, and sometimes orange cakes too.”

3. Support local women’s cooperatives by purchasing organic, fair-trade products, including oils, soaps, and skincare items, directly from the producers.

4. Enjoy a guided tour that explains the environmental importance of the argan tree, a UNESCO-protected species endemic to southwestern Morocco.

5. Some cooperatives offer tasting sessions of argan culinary products, like amlou—a delicious spread made from argan oil, almonds, and honey.

Visitor Tip: Visit in the morning when the cooperatives are less crowded, and don’t hesitate to ask questions—the women are often eager to share their knowledge about this ancient craft. On a foggy morning as the sun rose over Lake Inle, my boatman took me to the rendezvous point deep inside Inle Lake. Three fishermen sat in their boats with little fires to warm them up. They had promised me the previous evening to do a demonstration of their fishing technique. 

The quintessential pose of the Inle fisherman involves standing at the end of the boat on one leg with the other wrapped around his oar. Inle is a shallow lake and standing wouldn’t let they see the reeds below, they explain. Plus they use their body to propel the boat, leaving their hands free to collect their fishing net. 

Then they throw the cone-shape nets into the water, pressing on it with their foot so it sinks to the bottom where the fish are and traps them in.

Mexico City, Mexico, is home to Templo Mayor, the heart of the ancient Aztec capital, Tenochtitlán. Discovered beneath the Zócalo (main square) in the 1970s, this archaeological site and museum showcases the remains of the Aztecs' most sacred temple, dedicated to Huitzilopochtli (god of war) and Tlaloc (god of rain). Walking through the ruins, visitors can imagine the grandeur of the Aztec empire before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors.

Guatapé, after￼￼￼ a long time without leaving our homes, the breeze, the nature around and the hiking up the majestic “piedra del Peñol” give you a sense of freedom and greatness! The trees, plants, grass mixing up with the green of the dam, leave a mark! 
The colorful tiny houses and murals around this little but warming town, are the top ingredient to complete your joy while walking throughout the passages and sharing stories with the locals around!

Faroe Islands

Getting there on a little ferry tossed around on the surging Atlantic Ocean needs courage. As the boat uses all her resources to maneuver into a tight, rocky harbor, I wonder if the captain, who does this twice a day, is either extremely brave or completely suicidal. We step on to what looks like the sets of a Disney fantasy movie. Twenty colorful grass-roofed homes, one little schoolhouse - which has one child - and a bridge over the Atlantic.

I meet my guide Harald - a septuagenarian with poise to rival the curious sheep we see hanging precariously over the cliffs. Harald leads our little group on a 4-hour hike across the island to the lighthouse at the westernmost point of the Faroes.

Birds are everywhere - puffins, fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets - on the green hills, riding the ocean waves, occupying every inch of cliff space, filling the air with their calls, and circling the sky.

Tacos al pastor, elotes, chilaquiles, quesadillas, ceviche – the list goes on, because Mexican food is not only tasty but offers hundreds of different things to try. Anyone visiting Mexico City must, by all means, do a street food tour – a culinary and cultural adventure.

If you want a more adventurous Mexico City street food experience, there's no better place to venture than Mercado de San Juan, known for serving up crawlies and edible insects. 

Famous for being Frida Kahlo’s weekly shopping spot, Mercado Coyoacán is a little more expensive, but once you've tried the Tostadas de Coyoacán or fresh pulpo, you’ll forget about the price. For more hipster, upper-class street food, you can also try Mercado Roma – I’ve had some delicious sweet Pan de Los Muertos.

If you're looking for an unconventional neighborhood with art galleries, parks to hang out in, and lots of young, trendy people, Newtown is the place for you. I basically spend all my weekends there, drinking coffee, going to book clubs, working at the community kitchen Lentil as Anything, and having a beer at one of the lively bars at night. 

Australians love vintage – which makes Newtown the heaven for vintage clothes, cameras, vinyl records, and much more. I’ve got some new sandals, a polaroid camera, and jewelry, all unique pieces at an amazing price. Worth the hype!

You can easily get there by train, it's just a ride from Town Hall, or simply stay a few days in one of the hostels in Newtown.

Bohemian dreams in Newtown

Kakadu National Park is half the size of Switzerland and a real adventure. If you rent a car, you could drive along the road for weeks, camping in different places and experiencing nature in a way you can't anywhere else.

After leaving Darwin in a rented 4x4 jeep, we made the long drive to Kakadu National Park. Take plenty of drinks and snacks with you, as there aren't many stops on the road. Along the way, we visited several refreshing waterholes and waterfalls, had an open-air barbecue, and saw many birds, snakes, anthills, and farmland along the way.

At night we mostly stayed at campsites that provided tents, and the beauty of the night is incomparable. You can hear, smell, and see countless species of animals, from alligators swimming in lakes at night to dingoes howling, to weirdly chirping insects.

We hiked to a hidden waterfall and discovered some hundreds-of-years-old wooden paintings done by the ancestors of Australia's indigenous people. A must-see in Australia for sure!
