This immersive, sensorial experience spans two half-days, honoring the ancestral craft of sourdough bread-making. Inspired by the ancient Greek myths of goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, it combines bread-making, storytelling and mindful rituals that honor the sacred grain of wheat.

On the first half-day, you’ll learn about the ancestral art of sourdough breadmaking, delving into the significance of wheat in ancient Greece and its connection to Demeter. Through a mindful practice, you’ll prepare the dough, engaging with the wheat, your senses and the land of Athens. The bread is left to ferment overnight.

On the second half-day, you’ll bake the bread and share it in a ritual of togetherness. Paired with curated seasonal local foods, this mindful eating ritual fosters community and gratitude. This transformative workshop combines hands-on learning with cultural, mythological and spiritual elements, offering practical baking skills and a deep connection to ancient tradition.

Demeter taught mortals the art of bread-making. In this ancestral sourdough bread-making workshop, we’ll revisit ancient bread-making traditions and the types of bread the Ancient Greeks created. We’ll connect with our bodies, the ancient land of Athens, and the wheat itself.

Through hands-on learning, you’ll physically engage with ancestral methods of bread-making, deepening your connection to the craft and the stories behind it. The workshop also nurtures mindfulness in eating habits and respect for ingredients, transforming the approach to food in everyday life.

Community is emphasized through collaborative learning. By gathering in a circle to share bread as part of a ritual of togetherness, you’ll experience the timeless sense of community that bread-making represents. This experience offers an unforgettable sunrise photography session in Cappadocia, where you will capture the mesmerizing spectacle of hot air balloons floating over the region's iconic fairy chimneys and valleys. Your journey begins with a hotel pick-up before dawn, heading directly to the balloon launch site to photograph the preparation and inflation process. As the balloons ascend, you'll move to a nearby vantage point, typically on a valley rim, to photograph the balloons silhouetted against the rising sun and the surreal rock formations. Afterward, you will seek out landing balloons, focusing on vibrant interiors backlit by the morning light. This 2-hour experience introduces you to the culture of mate, Argentina’s most iconic social ritual. You'll gather around the table for an engaging introduction to the origins of mate and the legends tied to it, followed by hands-on guidance in preparing the infusion the Argentine way.

Pronounced mah-tay, it’s rare to see a Porteño without this caffeinated herbal drink of yerba mate leaves in hand. But mate is more than just a beverage—it’s about sharing, forming connections, and building community. You’ll learn the traditional preparation method, rooted in Indigenous customs, history and identity, and experience the ritual first-hand. The way mate is passed around in a group—even the order—follows unspoken rules rooted in respect and hospitality.

Italy

Corviale is one of the most ambitious and controversial housing projects ever built in Rome. Conceived in 1972 and stretching for nearly a kilometer, this massive complex—locally known as Il Serpentone (“the big snake”)—was inspired by Brutalist and Rationalist architecture and designed to house 8,500 people.

Walking through Corviale today means entering the layered story of a city that, in the 1970s, faced deep social inequality—when a third of its population still lived in shack settlements. This experience unfolds as a moving urban workshop: you’ll explore the hopes and failures that shaped this space, from its utopian promise of public housing to the long years of abandonment, marginalization, and stigma.

As the district undergoes a slow and ongoing transformation, this walk invites you to question what renewal really means, and how architecture, policy, and community intersect in the making—and remaking—of a city.

This experience offers a rare chance to explore Corviale with a sociologist who has spent years studying the urban stereotypes often attached to Rome’s outskirts. As you walk through the architecture and social fabric of this monumental complex, you’ll gain insight into the hopes and contradictions that shaped it.

The conversation will also open up to a broader reflection on similar projects from the same era—like the Vele di Scampia in Naples, built to house families displaced by the 1980 earthquake. Both Corviale and Scampia were born of urgency and idealism, yet followed different paths. This comparison adds a deeper layer to the walk, encouraging a critical reading of how cities respond to housing crises.

Walk from San Sebastián’s elegant city center, lined with Belle Époque buildings, to the lively Old Town. Discover how pintxos culture emerged in the mid-20th century, inspired by the region’s fishing heritage and seasonal produce.

Pintxos, pronounced pinch-oss, are skewered snacks ranging from a rich, meaty bite on bread to salty gildas and beyond — the Basque version of tapas (locals boast they are better). With pintxos, you can try all the flavors of the Iberian peninsula. You'll learn the ins and outs of how to navigate the local food scene, the best spots and what to order at them.

In this walking tour you'll stop off at various bars, each famous for a particular pintxo flavor or two. And your hosts will know exactly which ones to order at each stop, teaching you local insider tips as you go.

The castle’s interiors reflect the life and tastes of this period, with poignant artworks like "The Last Moments of Maximilian" adding depth to the visit.
3 - The castle is surrounded by Miramare Park, a 22-hectare area featuring a mix of Northern and Mediterranean botanical elements. This English-style garden, conceived by Maximilian himself, is a harmonious blend of forest-trees, bushes, ponds, and sculptures, offering a serene escape and a contrast to the Baroque garden tradition.
4 - Inside the castle, visitors can marvel at an array of art and cultural treasures. From paintings and sculptures collected by Maximilian during his travels to the marine life museum housed in the restored stables, Miramare Castle is a trove of artistic and historical significance.
Visitors can explore on their own or opt for guided tours or audio guides. The park, with its diverse flora and tranquil ponds, is freely accessible, offering a perfect setting for leisurely walks.

Miramare Castle

Antelope Canyon may be the most famous of Utah’s slot canyons,  but if you want to avoid the large crowds, go to Buckskin Gulch - harder to reach but possibly, more enjoyable.

Wire Pass, a gorge carved through the Cockscomb by Coyote Wash, is the most popular entry route into Buckskin Gulch. It takes 1.7 miles to get to the slot canyon from the trailhead. Wire Pass is short, less than half a mile, but its slot canyon is even more confined than Buckskin, and makes for spectacular photos.

Buckskin Gulch twists its way for another 13 surreal miles, but we turn back after a couple of miles to head back to the trailhead. We’ve stopped every few feet to capture various angles of the rock and light - and literally run out of time. You could certainly do a wonderful all-day hike here.

Through the Wire

Cefalù, a charming coastal town on the northern coast of Sicily, Italy, is a captivating blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. 2. For those seeking a bit of adventure, a hike up La Rocca is a must. The climb offers breathtaking panoramic views of Cefalù and the coastline, as well as the ruins of the ancient Temple of Diana, adding a touch of archaeology to the journey.

3. Wander through Cefalù's narrow, cobblestone streets to discover charming boutiques, local eateries, and historic buildings. The town’s authentic Sicilian atmosphere is best experienced in its vibrant piazzas and quiet alleyways.

4. Stretching along the town’s edge, the crescent-shaped beach offers soft sands and crystal-clear waters, making it a perfect spot for relaxation or a sunset swim after a day of exploration.

Explore Cefalu

Carved by the Dades River, the Dades Valley is one of Morocco’s most breathtaking landscapes, stretching between the High Atlas and Jebel Saghro mountains. Known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,” this region is dotted with ancient fortresses, traditional Berber villages, and dramatic rock formations. The winding road through the Dades Gorges is famous for its hairpin turns and spectacular canyon views, making it a must-visit for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure seekers.

1. Towering red and orange cliffs rise above the Dades River, creating a dramatic contrast with the lush green valley below. The ever-changing colors of the rock formations make sunrise and sunset particularly stunning.

2. A series of hairpin bends along the Dades Gorge road provides one of Morocco’s most thrilling drives. The viewpoint at the top offers breathtaking panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains.

3. Unique rock formations called Monkey Fingers stand out with their smooth, rounded shapes, formed by millions of years of wind and water erosion. The site is a favorite for hikers and photographers.

4. Traditional kasbahs and Berber villages line the valley, where visitors can experience authentic Moroccan culture, meet locals, and enjoy a glass of mint tea with stunning views.

The best time to visit is March to May or September to November, when the weather is mild and the landscapes are at their most vibrant. A 4x4 vehicle is recommended for navigating the winding roads. Staying in a guesthouse or kasbah hotel allows for a more immersive experience, and bringing a camera is essential to capture the valley’s stunning rock formations and scenic vistas.

Juliet’s House in Verona, Italy, is an attraction that draws romantics from all over the world. Juliet’s House in Verona

A road trip through Spain is literally the best option for those looking for a local, less touristic experience. You can basically rent a car anywhere you want – we started in Barcelona, heading down the coast, and taking stops in Ebro Delta and Denia and other sleepy beach towns down the road. One of our highlights was the Spanish town of Cartagena – a historical hub with beautiful angled roads, traditional culture to explore (expect to be invited to some Cerveza by the locals), and history lessons about Phoenician traders, Roman soldiers, and Christian Reconquistas. If you have some days left, visiting Andalusia is a must. It's by far the most beautiful region in Spain and is known for its majestic horse breed, pristine beaches, hot weather, and super friendly culture. 
All in all, it took us two weeks to get down the coast – but you can make it in a week as well – though you might have less time to explore, sunbathe, and learn about the history of Spain

Colombia

The Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, set in a 17th-century palace in the Janelas Verdes area of Lisbon, is a beacon of Portugal's artistic and cultural heritage. It also features the Belém Monstrance, made with gold and gems brought by Vasco da Gama, and fascinating Japanese screens depicting the Portuguese arrival in Japan.
3 - Portuguese and European Works: The museum's Portuguese gallery includes significant works like Gregório Lopes’ “Martyrdom of St. Sebastian” and Domingos Sequeira’s “The Adoration of the Magi”. In the European collection, one can admire paintings by Piero della Francesca, Tiepolo, Van Dyck, and Zurbarán.
4 - The Albertas Chapel and Oriental Art: The Albertas Chapel, part of the original palace, exemplifies Portuguese baroque with its gilt carvings and blue-and-white tile panels. The museum is accessible by public transport, with bus and tram options available. General admission is €10.00, and it's free with the Lisboa Card. The museum's location near the charming Santos neighborhood makes it easily combinable with a visit to other local attractions.
