With over two decades of experience, Nesime has been leading workshops at her Galatart Ebru Workshop in Istanbul since 2009. Her passion for preserving Turkish marbling has led her to explore its many forms, from bookbinding to fabric design. She has perfected the intricate process of transferring Ebru onto textiles, creating wearable and decorative artworks that honor this historic craft. Through her engaging workshops, Nesime not only teaches technique but also shares the rich symbolism and meditative qualities of Ebru, ensuring that each participant leaves with a deeper appreciation for this living tradition.

Argentina

This 2-hour walking tour explores the street art of Palermo Soho. The trendiest neighborhood in Buenos Aires, Palermo Soho is a both haven for street art and creativity and the epicenter of modern design. Walking around these cobblestone passages and dipping into independent boutiques and cafes is all part of a stay in the Argentine capital, which means that a rendezvous with these painted walls is a sure thing. Seeing them at Grace’s side lays bare the hidden stories of the murals and shares the stories of those who painted them—explaining the messages, motifs, and intentions of each installation.

All my life, I called it |trom-sow|, but the locals insist on |troom-sa|. 

The drive through Andøya and Senja was so spectacular that we wanted to abandon our itinerary and stay on the islands overnight vs. driving into Tromsø. And then I would have missed a dramatic sunset/dawn. Everything - sky, sea, windows on buildings, Arctic Church, mountain tops - blazed fiery red for an hour before turning into several shades of blue, with bright pink thrown in for effect. It stayed like that all night long. 

The locals can’t seem to stop partying through Friday night all along Storgata, so the people-watching is riveting. We’ve got to sleep at some point, we kept telling each other.
