With one of João’s associates guiding you, you will get rare access into special artisanal places. The serene backdrop of Monchique's green mountains and the intimate encounters with local artisans, farmers and producers make this a heartwarming narrative of culture, art, and nature.
You’ll visit three workshops where local artisans breathe life into pottery, ceramics, and vime (wicker) basketry. Feel the warmth of community as you engage with these skilled craftsmen. Some of the people you will meet: Paulo, a 'Medronho firewater' producer who will show us his distillery and explain everything about this old tradition, José Rosa, a master artisan and expert at intricate basket weaving, and Leonel: a master potter who creates a symphony of earth and art in his beautiful workshop full of flowers and objects.
