What is this?

This is a relaxed, intimate experience for couples, families, or friends looking to remember their time in Mexico City—part walking tour, part food tasting, part personal photo story—set in one of the city’s most iconic neighborhoods. Polanco is known for its tree-lined streets, modernist architecture, and polished café culture. With your host Marie, a local photographer, you’ll visit a curated selection of atmospheric bakeries that reflect Mexico’s evolving flavors—where pan dulce meets matcha, and local chocolate is served beside rich espresso. Along the way, Marie will guide you to the best menu items and photograph you in a series of candid portraits—framed by the textures and tones of Polanco. This isn’t a posed shoot, but a photo story of a morning in motion, shaped by the light, color, and rhythm of the neighborhood. It’s a chance to see Polanco through its details—to leave with something to remember it by. After the walk, Marie will share a digital gallery of portraits.

What makes this unique?

Polanco is home to some of the best-known cafés and top-tier bakeries in the city, like Constela Café and Ki’ Xocolatl. These—and several other beloved spots—reflect Mexico’s food culture today: where heritage ingredients meet modern techniques, and pastries range from the traditional to the unexpected. Many blur the line between bakery and art gallery, with every plate, tile, and song playing overhead intentionally chosen. Marie knows the neighborhood well and brings both local insight and an eye for detail. She’ll help you find the best items on the menu, share pieces of Polanco’s history and personality, and quietly capture the way you move through the space—street scenes, smiles, shared bites, and everything in between. This is about slowing down and seeing a part of Mexico City that’s often overlooked beyond its exclusive image. The result: a walk through Polanco that feels both personal and lasting, with images to match.
