What is this?

This 3.5-hour photography experience takes place in two of the most beautiful and culturally rich neighborhoods in Buenos Aires: La Boca and San Telmo. Led by a professional travel photographer from Buenos Aires, you will explore these streets with your own camera and learn how to capture the kinds of imagery usually seen in guidebooks and brochures. Bernardo will steer you past iconic sights and down hidden passageways, illuminating architectural features easily spotted by the typical traveler. You will also fall into the natural rhythm of these bohemian districts and hear about the people who have shaped their development over the centuries. The experience is designed for beginner photographers through to those with an existing knowledge of photography. It is best experienced with a DSLR or mirrorless camera however cell phones are also welcome. Tripods are not necessary although carrying a variety of lenses is a bonus.

What makes this unique?

This photographic experience is designed to introduce you to the most bohemian, visually enticing, and culturally stimulating neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Rather than a standard walking tour, you will explore La Boca and San Telmo from the perspective of a professional photographer, an artist, and a Porteño local. Bernardo will guide you along La Caminito—the “Little Street” also referred to as an open-air street museum—where you will be immersed in the area’s vibrant history of tango and street art. From behind the lens, you will trace (and capture) the contrasts between these colorful tenement residences and modern structures. You will also explore the bustling market which has stood in San Telmo since the late 19th century and pass by one of the oldest churches in Buenos Aires and the city’s narrowest house. Delivered at an unhurried pace, you will fall into the natural rhythm of these historic barrios and have the opportunity to capture everyday life as well as the buildings.
