This cooking workshop takes place in a scenic Indigenous Zapotec town and introduces you to local ingredients and techniques specific to regional tamale-making. You'll be guided by a member of a Zapotec women’s collective that supports local women and their community, along with your guide, who will assist with organization and translation.

During the workshop, you'll get hands-on experience with the ingredients and methods used by the women in this collective to create handmade tamales. Women Supporting Women is a collective founded in the 1990s by Indigenous Zapotec women—many of whom were widowed, single mothers, or unmarried, circumstances that were socially frowned upon at the time. In addition to cooking, the group also weaves wool rugs, producing handcrafted pieces sold in their workshop.

You'll leave with a deeper appreciation for Zapotec cooking traditions and a richer understanding of the historical and contemporary challenges facing this community.

Taking place in a social impact-oriented space, this workshop is located in a traditional Zapotec village relatively close to Oaxaca de Juárez. It not only offers insight into local ingredients and cooking techniques but also supports the core mission of this women-run project, which helps local women and their broader community.

Joined by a host with a long-standing relationship with the organization, you’ll be welcomed into this meaningful space and invited to learn more about local culture and food traditions from a Zapotec perspective.

Glide across the Venice lagoon on Davide’s vintage wooden motorboat to visit two iconic islands where craft has been a daily language for generations. First stop: Murano. Inside a family-run furnace, you’ll watch glass gather, breathe, and turn under the maestro’s tools as Davide explains and interprets techniques and guild lore. There’s time for questions and a walkthrough of the family's showrooms, where fire-shaped pieces reflect the lineage of Murano craft.

Then Burano greets you with painted facades and the fine geometry of lace. You’ll see artisans in small ateliers — needle, pillow, and pattern at work — then wander short lanes toward the bell tower and waterfront, pausing for color-drenched photographs. Throughout, Davide sets the rhythm — efficient but unhurried — ensuring you catch both the big and little aspects of island life and tradition. In 3.5 hours, you return to Venice with context, craft, and a bright memory of the lagoon’s makers.

Daniel Flores is a Mexican artist and the director of the Producción Gráfica Zanate printmaking workshop. He specializes in graphic arts and printmaking and has participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Mexico and internationally. He has also received several grants for projects focused on graphic and plastic arts production within various communities across the state of Oaxaca. Daniel has been working professionally in the Mexican art world since 2002.

He founded Gráfica Zanate in 2007, and the studio continues to produce annual printmaking portfolios in collaboration with artists from Oaxaca, Puebla, Mexico City, and abroad.

Alongside Daniel, the "maestro" of Gráfica Zanate, you’ll meet the studio’s team of experienced local artists: Viridiana Carmona, Marco Patiño, and Marco Antonio Santos.

Santa Maria del Mar, known as the "Cathedral of La Ribera" in Barcelona, is a sterling example of pure Catalan Gothic architecture, distinguished by its harmonious proportions and serene ambiance. Completed rapidly for a medieval church, between 1329 and 1384, it maintains a stylistic purity rare for the era due to its construction within just 55 years. The church's interior, marked by its vast, open spaces and the widest column spacing of any Gothic church in Europe, creates an impression of sublime width, height, and airiness​​​​. It’s our favorite church in Barcelona, here’s why:
1: The church's interior is notably sparse in imagery, a result of damage from a fire in 1936 during anticlerical disturbances. Despite this loss, including the destruction of the Baroque retable by Deodat Casanoves and Salvador Gurri, some stained-glass windows from various periods have survived, contributing to the church's luminous atmosphere​​.
2: The basilica's design boasts very tall slender columns that are 13 meters apart, supporting three naves of equal height. This unique structural approach contributes to the church's feeling of spaciousness, with its maximum height matching its total width at 100 medieval feet​​​​.
3: Rooftop Terrace Tour: Available from May to October, the tour offers insights into the church's construction, history, and the surrounding La Ribera neighborhood.

The viewpoint overlooks the Campo del Moro and extends to the large wooded area of Casa de Campo, with the silhouette of the mountains in the background. It’s a perfect spot for sunset viewing and capturing photographs.
3. Strategic Location: The Mirador's location between the Royal Palace and the Almudena Cathedral places it within what is known as Madrid's Cornisa, an elevated area offering excellent views, especially at sunset. It extends from Parque del Oeste to Parque de la Cornisa, including the famous Las Vistillas space.
4. Access to Royal Collections Gallery: The reopening of the Mirador coincides with the upcoming inauguration of the Royal Collections Gallery. This makes the Mirador not only a viewpoint but also a transitional space to one of Madrid's upcoming cultural attractions.
The Mirador de la Cornisa is open to the public every day from 10 am to 10 pm, free of charge. It’s a must-visit spot to enjoy some of the most beautiful landscapes in Madrid.

Vistas: Mirador de la Cornisa

Catalonia, Spain, is home to the stunning Parc Natural del Delta de l’Ebre, the largest wetland in Catalonia and one of the most important birdwatching sites in Europe. Formed by sediment deposits from the Ebro River, this protected area features a unique landscape of salt flats, lagoons, rice paddies, and pristine beaches. The park is a haven for nature lovers, offering opportunities for birdwatching, cycling, hiking, and boat tours while providing a peaceful escape into Catalonia’s rich biodiversity.


1. Birdwatching: Home to over 300 bird species, including vibrant flamingos, herons, and rare migratory birds, the park is a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature enthusiasts.

2. Punta del Fangar: This remote, desert-like peninsula offers scenic views of shifting dunes, a historic lighthouse, and peaceful, uncrowded beaches perfect for walking and photography.

Parc del Delta de l’Ebre

The largest (not highest) waterfalls in the world are located in Puerto Iguazu, Argentina. It's a breathtaking spectacle to hear, see and feel the masses of water cascading down the landscape, and along the way, you'll see beautiful rainbows, coatis, and birds.
To get there, you'll fly to Puerto Iguazú and stay at one of the local hostels. We took this colorful train to the falls, and then you hike a bit on very accessible trails. Take your camera, because you'll want to show these views to your friends and family back home. Later in the evening you can watch the sunset and have a nice view of the three-country border – a river that separates Argentina, Paraguay and Brazil.
After visiting the Argentine side of the falls, you can take a trip to Brazil to experience the other side of the falls as well. On the Brazilian side, you can also visit a local botanical garden where you can observe mockingbirds, butterflies, monkeys, and other tropical animals.

A incredible waterfall scenary

Devrent Valley, often called Imagination Valley, invites visitors to unleash their creativity as they explore its whimsical rock formations, which resemble animals and other shapes.
1. Rock Formations: Marvel at natural sculptures shaped like camels, dolphins, and even castles—an incredible showcase of Cappadocia’s geological artistry.

Imagination Valley

Nestled along the western coast of Sicily, the Marsala Salt Pans present a spectacular blend of natural beauty and human ingenuity. This sprawling network of shallow salt pools, used for the traditional method of sea salt extraction, dates back to the Phoenicians. The Marsala Salt Pans are also a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts. Here are some things to look for when you visit:

1: Salt Harvesting Tradition: The salt pans showcase a centuries-old method of salt harvesting. Sea water is channeled into shallow ponds and left to evaporate, leaving behind high-quality sea salt. 
2: Eco-System and Wildlife: The area is a thriving ecosystem, attracting a diverse range of bird species, especially during the migration seasons. Flamingos, herons, and storks are common sights, making it a fantastic spot for birdwatching.
3: Windmills and Museums: Scattered across the salt pans are iconic windmills, once used to pump water and grind the harvested salt. Some of these windmills have been converted into museums, providing insights into the history and process of salt production. We also recommend visiting the Salt Museum of Saline Culcasi, located in the Nubia district, this museum is a vivid testament to the harmonious relationship between the sea and the land. 
4: Panoramic Views: The salt pans offer mesmerizing views, especially at sunset when the sky and water transform into a palette of vivid colors. The blend of nature and craftsmanship makes for an unforgettable sight.
5: Culinary Significance: Marsala salt is renowned for its quality and is a staple in Sicilian cuisine. You can purchase locally harvested salt, a unique souvenir representing the region's culinary heritage.
