Toledo is one of Spain’s most historically significant cities, with roots dating back to a pre-Roman settlement. It was once the capital of Spain and remains a UNESCO World Heritage Site today. Over the centuries, it became known as the City of Tolerance—or the City of Three Cultures—due to the coexistence and influence of Muslim, Jewish, and Christian communities.

This private walking tour begins with a panoramic car tour of the city, followed by visits to monuments that bring Toledo’s layered history to life. Take the 9:15am train from Madrid Atocha to Toledo station, where Adolfo will meet you. It takes 35 minutes and costs €14. You can pre-buy the train tickets from Renfe.com, or give yourself plenty of time to buy a ticket at Atocha.

If coming by car, Adolfo will waiting for you at Bisagra Gate at the starting time. By car it takes around one hour to get to Toledo from Madrid.

Chile

This experience is a private tour of Galería Artkinson, one of Valparaíso's most intriguing independent galleries focused on urban art and contemporary expression. Named for its proximity to the beloved Paseo Artkinson walkway, the gallery is co-managed by a quintet of local artists each with their own specialty across painting, engraving, sculpture, and jewelry craft. Each artist has a different style which makes for one of the most eclectic experiences in Chile's Capital of Culture.

This private viewing experience is hosted by one of the five artists. It consists of an in-depth description of the original works showcased in the gallery and the studio, where you'll learn about the different materials, symbols, and ideas behind each piece. You will also learn how the work of the Galería Artkinson collective fits in with the wider identity of Valparaíso's urban art landscape. The experience includes one Pisco Sour or glass of Chilean wine during the art tour.

This is a rare opportunity to explore every nook and cranny of an independent gallery staffed by the very artists whose sculptures, paintings, prints, and jewelry hang on the walls. The gallery is co-managed by five local artists each working within their own medium. Through graffiti art, wood engraving, painting, and beyond, this gallery characterizes the sense of community and collaboration which lies at the heart of Valparaíso's modern art scene. As the tour is guided by one of the five artists, they can delve deeper into the themes addressed in the exhibition. Each artist is an expert in their own field as well as a valuable insider on the work of their associates. All products exhibited in the gallery are made by this collective—from the labels to the original works listed for sale. Three of the artists are muralists whose public installations have already become part of the urban landscape of Valparaíso.

This private viewing of Galeria Artkinson is hosted by one of the five resident artists who collaborate in the studio. Moro "Newenki" Pichilaf specializes in wood engraving, stencil art, and painting alongside mural art with fellow graffiti artists Don Peluca and Cuellimangui. Fernanda González works with plasticine installations whereas Klaus Tordo is a master at metal engraving and the botanical practice of Kokedama.

The host of the experience depends on the date booked. In most cases, you will meet at least one further resident artist during the visit besides the host artist. 

Mexico

This is a rare-access, evocative, two-hour multisensory journey into Mexican culture — a private mezcal tasting blended with live music and storytelling. Hosted in the home of Andrea and Juan, the experience offers an intimate setting where tradition, flavor, and sound come together.

Andrea, a mezcal expert with deep family roots in Guerrero, guides you through a tasting of artisanal mezcals, each paired with bites that highlight and deepen the drink’s complexity. Alongside each sip and pairing, she shares stories of agave heritage, cultural symbolism, and personal memory — making every glass feel rooted in place and tradition.

What further sets this experience apart is the live music. Before each tasting, Andrea and Juan perform short musical pieces — drawn from Mexico’s folk tradition — that evoke the landscapes and emotions from which mezcal emerges. These performances act as both prelude and palette, deepening your connection to the drink and the culture behind it.

Extending well beyond a typical mezcal tasting, this is an authentic cultural immersion — where mezcal, song, and stories weave into a singular experience. Your hosts are mezcal specialists and professional musicians who use song to convey regional stories and deepen the emotional resonance of what you’re tasting. Andrea is an anthropologist, Master Mezcalier, and singer with over 15 years of experience promoting the mezcal culture of Guerrero through her projects. Her connection to mezcal runs deep, shaped by family traditions where the spirit was always paired with music and food. Since 2010, she has played an active role in elevating Guerrero mezcal on both national and international stages.

Juan Pablo is a traditional music promoter, singer, and composer for film, theatre, and collaborative projects. He is also a dedicated advocate for preserving Cardenche music in Mexico and abroad, helping to keep this rare vocal tradition alive through performance and education.

This full-day bird watching excursion is led by a naturalist guide and conservationist who surveys the local population of avifauna and knows all the best spots to encounter resident and migratory species. After leaving San Pedro, you first drive south towards Jere Canyon (Quebrada de Jere) where tamarugo conebills, oasis hummingbirds, white-winged doves, and plain-mantled tit-spinetails dwell. There are brief stops along the way in oases frequented by birds. The morning concludes at the Atacama Salt Flat's Chaxa Lagoon, where you will encounter three of the world's six flamingo species.

Upon return to San Pedro, you'll enjoy a relaxed lunch with Valeria in a local restaurant before driving north to highland canyons and wetlands. At the Machuca, Putana and Jauna wetlands, you will scout for the diademed sandpiper plover: any birder's crown jewel in the Altiplano. Vicuñas and vizcachas are usually spotted, and there is always the hope of spying Andean cats and culpeo foxes.

This avifauna safari is designed exclusively for birders, ornithophiles, and twitchers at all stages on their mission to encounter the world's rarest and most unique species. It all starts with the host, Valeria, who is a fountain of knowledge about the Atacama's fauna and whose passion for the desert's fragile ecosystems is unbridled. Valeria knows that birding requires patience, so her tour is delivered at a leisurely pace with plenty of time for you, the birder, to experience the joy of mindful discovery. 

While locating the diademed sandpiper plover is a major component of the experience, all birds encountered in this region have their charms. At the Chaxa Lagoon, you will have the pleasure of seeing the Andean, Chilean, and James flamingos wading side by side for the shrimp responsible for their rosy feathers. This is also a hotspot for puna plovers and Andean avocets. Visiting quieter canyons and wetlands allows for a mindful connection with birds and studying their behaviors.

Valeria Heindl is a passionate naturalist and conservationist who has resided in San Pedro de Atacama for over a decade. While operating her tour business, she has fostered deep roots in the community. Most recently, Valeria has participated in the Flamingo and Shore Birds Survey, the Diademed Sandpiper Plover Survey, and an ongoing CONAF raptor monitoring project in the Moon Valley. She has also deepened her knowledge by attending ROC (La Red de Observadores de Aves y Vida Silvestre de Chile) courses in Bird Physiology, Pelagic Birds, and Shore Birds Conservation.
