Along the way, the curator will share the gallery's story and provide background on the artistic journey ahead.

You will be invited on a detailed guided tour of the artist's studio, personally led by both the artist and the curator. This part of the experience is rich with insights, as you'll learn about the artist's journey, techniques, the deeper messages behind their work, and the cultural and historical influences that shape their art. Chile

This 3-hour photography experience takes place on the periphery of Valparaíso in the Playa Ancha district. Upon meeting your host in a storied cafe, you'll warm up over coffee while shooting textured interiors and panoramic vistas from the roof terrace. David will then weave you past pastel-hued mansions from the 19th century and neighborhood bakeries, sharing photography tips and anecdotes.

A leisurely gander brings you to Paseo 21 de Mayo—one of Valparaíso's most enthralling viewpoints. It's wise to carry cash should you wish to purchase a souvenir from the street vendors who you'll liaise with through Daniel. The route then passes through narrow streets adorned with murals and "playful" photo spots where you have a choice of sampling a completo (Chilean hot dog) or empanada and an ice cream with humble origins and a curious legacy. The experience ends at the oldest mansion on Cerro Artillería—a photographic treasure trove—where you may opt to stick around for lunch or a Pisco Sour.

Not only does this experience expose a neighborhood where few tourists tread, but your host will train your eye on hidden details. David will demonstrate how to capture the essence of these dollhouse facades—some of which retain their original glory, others stand in disheveled beauty. Using a DSLR camera or your smartphone, you'll experiment with colors and textures.

Curated as a sensory exchange, you'll tune into the sounds of the port, the persistent sea breeze, the holler of ice cream vendors, and the rattle of wooden doors. You'll inhale the scent of fresh bread while snapping local bakeries. In his intimate atelier, you’ll observe the artisan, Osvaldo, sculpting trinkets from Chilean lapis lazuli.

Growing up amid the windswept dunes of Concón and the bohemian streets of Valparaíso kindled David's appreciation for photography, nature, and art. He graduated from the University of Playa Ancha and went on to work as a Software Engineer, while flexing his skills behind the lens. 

As a self-taught photographer, David has honed his talent working with both landscapes and portraiture. He has an experimental style and a keen eye for spotting easily-missed details He has a special ability to see the potential in the simple aspects of local reality and culture, and always seeks to capture them in an original way through his photography. He works with a Canon DSLR, using 50mm and 18-55mm lenses for regular shots and a 300mm lens to capture distant subjects with clarity and depth.

David draws upon his extensive archive of travel photography experiences while mentoring those visiting Valparaíso on how to capture the beauty of a city and why you should look beyond what's at eye level.

Cycle through the heart of Istria on an e-bike journey that blends landscapes, small-town heritage, and local flavours.

Starting in Motovun—perched high above the Mirna Valley — you'll follow the Parenzana, a former railway line turned panoramic trail, crossing vineyards, olive groves, and forested hills. Along the way, explore Grožnjan and Oprtalj, two hilltop villages known for their quiet charm, stone houses, and centuries-old traditions.

Portugal

This experience traces Lisbon’s riverfront through Belém, where Tejo (Tagus) River once marked the edge of empire. This district was the departure point for voyages during the Age of Discoveries, when ships sailed toward Africa, Brazil and India.

You begin in a traditional bakery to taste pastéis de nata, custard tarts made from a recipe linked to the nearby monastery. From there, you visit Mosteiro dos Jerónimos — a defining example of Manueline architecture. Its cloisters and church were built with wealth from maritime trade and house the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões. Cross the lawns toward Torre de Belém, a fortified tower that once guarded the mouth of the Tejo. 

After a wine and oyster tasting — grounded in the Tejo estuary’s long history as a rich fishing ground — you board a private boat along the Tejo toward Terreiro do Paço, arriving at Lisbon’s grand river square. The journey concludes with a ginjinha in hand, facing the water that shaped the city’s history.

You meet Rita in Praça Afonso de Albuquerque, a formal elegant riverside square in Belém set between the river and the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. Here, she introduces the historical arc of the experience, an introduction to Portuguese history before setting off on your walking tour. 

Beginning here grounds the tour - and sets the stage for the rest of the day. The square’s position near the river reflects Belém’s role as the departure point for voyages that connected Europe to Africa, Asia, and the Atlantic world.

Praça Afonso de Albuquerque

You step into the historic bakery where custard tarts have been made since 1837 using a recipe linked to the nearby Mosteiro dos Jerónimos. After the dissolution of religious orders in 1834, the monastery’s recipe was adapted and preserved here. 

Unlike generic pastry stops, here you are experiencing a recipe with direct links to the monastery just a few minutes away. The tart embodies Portugal’s blend of humble ingredients, monastic tradition, and the imperial-era spice trade.

You step inside the Church of Santa Maria at the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, begun in 1501 under King Manuel I. A defining example of Manueline architecture, its stone vaulting and carved columns display maritime motifs woven into late Gothic form.

You walk to the exterior of the Torre de Belém, built between 1514 and 1519 under King Manuel I to defend the entrance to Lisbon’s harbour. Positioned at the mouth of the Tagus, the tower formed part of the city’s defensive system while also marking the symbolic threshold of maritime departure.

You won’t go inside the tower, but you have time to appreciate its symbolism and hear its stories from Rita — as a meeting point of defence, exploration, and aesthetics — and understand its role as both a fortress and a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.

Torre de Belém

You board a private boat for an hour-long private scenic journey along the Tejo (Tagus) River. From the water, Belém’s monuments — monastery, tower, and open riverfront — align differently, revealing their relationship to navigation and approach.

Accompanied by Rita, this view from the water takes on fresh perspective vs. a simple boat ride. “In my youth,” he recalls, “many people came here, to the Algarve, and my family—like many others—had small farms. I spent a lot of time working on these farms growing carob, figs, almonds, and olives.” These daily rituals shaped his relationship to the land. “Everybody knows the Algarve for its oranges,” he adds, 
remembering his family’s orchard. “I have good memories of my mother and my sister making lots of cakes—almond cakes, and sometimes orange cakes too.”

When asked about his love for Lisbon, Tiago’s enthusiasm is immediate: “I love my city! I really love the historic center of Lisbon!” Though he didn’t always feel that way. Growing up on the city’s outskirts, it wasn’t until returning after time abroad that he saw it anew. “It was as a young and independent adult with an arts and architecture degree, and with the enthusiasm to explore — that I realized how beautiful, diverse, and interesting my city is.”
For Tiago, connecting with a culture means full immersion. “You have to experience it with open eyes, heart, and mind,” he says. That means talking to locals, walking unfamiliar routes, listening more than looking. “Lisbon isn’t just to be seen, but touched, smelled, and tasted.” It’s not a checklist—it’s a presence.
He also names two challenges: First, Lisbon’s historic neighborhoods are deeply distinct—each like its own mini-city. “Lisbon is multidimensional. It cannot—and should not—be rushed.” Second, mass tourism threatens the local character he cherishes. Responsible travel, he says, is essential to preserve the culture.
As tourism evolves, Tiago points toward Lisbon’s under-known strengths. “Gastronomy, street art, tiles, contemporary architecture… there’s so much more to discover!”
