From November through April, this experience plunges you into Catalonia’s artichoke season. A 30-minute private transfer (20 km) from Barcelona brings you to a farmhouse nestled in the fertile Llobregat Delta — a region where artichokes dominate 25 % of cultivated land. On arrival, you’ll walk among squat, glossy-leafed plants and harvest plump artichoke buds — grown in mineral-rich delta soil and kissed by sea breezes — with their peak sweetness emerging in winter’s cool days. Immerse yourself in the fragrant world of an aromatic and medicinal herbs farm nestled in the picturesque region of Alentejo, Portugal. Afterwards, there will be a tasting in the middle of the field in a shady spot, of all the products produced on the farm. This nighttime photography experience invites you to explore Rome as the city shifts from the blue hour into full evening light. You begin near the Colosseum, capturing its form from elevated viewpoints where Roman pines and shrubs frame the monument in unexpected ways. As daylight fades, the mix of deep blues and warm architectural tones creates a vivid palette that defines the opening part of the walk.

As traffic builds, you experiment with long exposures, shaping light trails that cut across the foreground and give energy to the scene. You continue through a quiet side street where the Colosseum reappears between lampposts, their reflections softening the cobblestones and adding depth to each shot.

The final stretch moves toward the Imperial Forums, the illuminated Markets of Trajan, and Michelangelo’s Piazza del Campidoglio, before reaching the Caffarelli Terrace. From here, the skyline opens toward St Peter’s, offering one of the most striking night views in the city.

Set in a traditional riad, the evening unfolds in three parts: a guided lecture, a live Sufi music ritual, and an intimate dinner. This is an experience designed for the curious and contemplative. The session begins with a storytelling session inspired by the scholarly gatherings of Ben Youssef Madrasa. A trained and knowledgeable storyteller will introduce themes at the heart of Moroccan Sufism—divine love (Ishk al Ilahi), wisdom (Hikma), being (Wujud), and the interplay of perfection and imperfection.

Following this, a female Sufi music ensemble performs Hadra rituals—an ancient, rhythmic spiritual tradition using chants and percussion to evoke presence and devotion. Eventually, you will continue the discussion with the storyteller in a warm, reflective setting.

Chile

This full-day photography excursion takes you to two contrasting natural wonders in the Atacama Desert of Chile: the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna) and Rainbow Valley (Valle del Arcoiris). It is hosted by Mirko, a professional photographer specializing in landscapes and wildlife and a licensed guide. Upon leaving San Pedro de Atacama, Mirko will pull over at one of his favorite viewpoints to appreciate the sunrise over the Andes mountain range. While sipping coffee and sharing a breakfast of marraqueta bread rolls, you'll warm up your photography skills for the day by shooting the soft morning light. 

You will then explore the ravines and dunes of Moon Valley, coming to understand how it earned its name. After lunch at a local restaurant in San Pedro de Atacama, you'll head to the Cordillera Domeyko to study the 3,000-year-old petroglyphs of Yerba Buenas before ending the day in the multi-colored Rainbow Valley.

Mirko has selected these two locations for their contrasts. The morning is spent exploring the salt mines, rugged amphitheaters, and sweeping dunes of Moon Valley where Mirko will explain the geological anomalies. By visiting early in the day, you're spared the inevitable afternoon crowds and have a more relaxed photographic experience. 

The afternoon takes place at two of the Atacama Desert's hidden treasures: Yerbas Buenas and Rainbow Valley. Yerbas Buenas (Hierbas Buenas) is an open-air exhibit of pre-Columbian rock carvings which provide insight into ancient Indigenous cultures. Mirko will explain the symbolism behind the petroglyphs and how these served as more than pretty pictures! In Rainbow Valley, the mountains are painted hues of red, green, white, yellow, and blue as a result of the oxidation of different mineral deposits over millions of years. You will arrive in time to catch the soft light of the waning sun. Lunch in town serves as a way to chat informally with Mirko.

This immersive, sensorial experience spans two half-days, honoring the ancestral craft of sourdough bread-making. Inspired by the ancient Greek myths of goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, it combines bread-making, storytelling and mindful rituals that honor the sacred grain of wheat.

On the first half-day, you’ll learn about the ancestral art of sourdough breadmaking, delving into the significance of wheat in ancient Greece and its connection to Demeter. Through a mindful practice, you’ll prepare the dough, engaging with the wheat, your senses and the land of Athens. The bread is left to ferment overnight.

On the second half-day, you’ll bake the bread and share it in a ritual of togetherness. Paired with curated seasonal local foods, this mindful eating ritual fosters community and gratitude. This transformative workshop combines hands-on learning with cultural, mythological and spiritual elements, offering practical baking skills and a deep connection to ancient tradition.

Demeter taught mortals the art of bread-making. In this ancestral sourdough bread-making workshop, we’ll revisit ancient bread-making traditions and the types of bread the Ancient Greeks created. We’ll connect with our bodies, the ancient land of Athens, and the wheat itself.

Japan

Join photographer Lee Chapman to explore Tokyo beyond the glitz, where normal Tokyoites live normal lives. Free of tourist-focused attractions, these cities within the city hold their own charm and personalities often linked to their historical origins from over a century ago.

Lee will take you through three or four distinctly different neighborhoods of Western Tokyo, depending on your pace and stamina. In each neighborhood, he'll take you to some hidden highlights and instruct you on how to capture some fleeting moments in these ever-changing environments.

Throughout the walk, Lee will share his deep knowledge of the history of these locations and give you expert tips on photographing them: composition, technique, and waiting for the decisive moment.

Along the way, pop into a small local cafe or coffee shop to enjoy a taste of the small city.

Lee has been leading tours of "regular" Tokyo for over a decade, focusing on neighborhoods rarely mentioned in guidebooks or on social media. His amiable personality has helped him make friends with total strangers, a skill that will be on display throughout your time with him.

Lee uses his familiarity with Tokyo to curate a tour through some of Western Tokyo's most interesting neighborhoods. The Charming Soul of Lisbon

5 days in Lisbon with palaces, tiles, fado, markets and a day trip to the mountains and villages.

Australia

The best thing about visiting Australia is that scenic views and spectacular nature are just a stone's throw away, no matter where you are. If you're in Sydney, you won't get a better view of the ocean than walking through Royal National Park and taking Bundeena Drive to Marley Walk.

Passing through scenic heathland with small trees, you'll soon come to a bushwalk through a denser forest. We saw many native bird species, including the famous cockatoo, had a dip in one of the pools along the way, and took stunning sunset photos as you look out over the wild ocean. The tourist highlight is Wedding Cake Rock, but our personal star was Marley Beach, a dreamy, hidden sandy beach where you can relax and dip your feet in the refreshing water.

You can rent a car and drive directly to Bundeena, but we decided to take the train from Sydney to Cronulla and from there take the ferry to Bundeena.

In Venice, a city sculpted by canals and history, a gondola ride offers a serene journey through its history. Here are the top things to enjoy:

2: Iconic Sights Along the Way: As your gondola sweeps past the Rialto Bridge, the oldest bridge spanning the Grand Canal, soak in its Renaissance elegance. Another majestic sight is the Bridge of Sighs, enveloped in tales of romance and longing. Don't miss the grandeur of the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Salute, a baroque masterpiece perched elegantly on the canal's edge.

While the days of gondoliers singing melodious tunes have faded, as captured in William Goldman's "The Silent Gondoliers," their presence still adds a charming authenticity to the experience.

Gondola rides typically cost around 90 euros during the day and 110 euros at night, accommodating up to 5 people. Book in advance to avoid long queues and to secure a preferred time slot.

Located in southern Morocco near Ouarzazate, the Skoura Palm Grove is a lush oasis that stretches across the arid landscape, offering a striking contrast to the surrounding desert. Known for its vast date palm plantations, ancient kasbahs, and traditional Berber villages, Skoura is a peaceful retreat filled with history and natural beauty. Whether you're looking for a scenic drive, a cultural experience, or a place to unwind, this palm grove is a hidden gem worth exploring.

1. A vast sea of palm trees stretches across the valley, interspersed with olive and almond orchards. The lush greenery provides a refreshing escape from the dry desert surroundings.

2. A 17th-century fortress called Kasbah Amridil stands as the most famous kasbah in Skoura. It offers a glimpse into Morocco’s past with its well-preserved mudbrick architecture, historical artifacts, and rooftop views of the oasis.

3. Peaceful walking and biking trails weave through the palm groves, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace while enjoying the shade of towering date palms.

4. Local Berber villages offer a warm welcome, with opportunities to sip traditional Moroccan tea, browse small souks, and learn about the centuries-old practice of date farming.

Slovenia

Photography-Forward Itinerary for Ljubljana, Slovenia 

Morning Stroll Along the Ljubljanica River (8:00 AM - 9:30 AM). Begin your day with a peaceful walk along the Ljubljanica River. The river is lined with charming cafes, markets, and beautiful architecture, offering countless photo opportunities. The reflections in the river and the lively street scenes create dynamic compositions​.

Dragon Bridge (9:45 AM - 10:15 AM). The bridge is adorned with majestic dragon statues. These statues make for fantastic detailed shots, especially with the cityscape in the background. Use a telephoto lens to focus on the intricate details of the dragons and a wide-angle lens to capture the bridge in its entirety along with the surrounding urban landscape​.

Triple Bridge (10:30 AM - 12:00 PM). Visit the iconic bridge, designed by Jože Plečnik. This unique structure, combined with the bustling life around it, provides dynamic photo opportunities. A wide-angle lens will help capture the architectural details and the vibrant atmosphere. A polarizing filter can enhance the colors and reduce glare from the water. Try shooting at different angles to capture the varying moods and perspectives of this central landmark​. 

A Morning Photo Walk Ljubljana

Pyrgos is a trendy hilltop medieval village. It’s full of little winding, narrow streets constructed haphazardly on the hills alongside multi-colored houses and doors. We lose our way several times and keep looping back to the same point .. using that as an excuse to check out yet another local art gallery constructed unobtrusively into the hillside. 

During the 15th and 16th century, the locals defended themselves from pirates by erecting kastelias .. fortified buildings. Pyrgos has the best example of these medieval buildings on the island. It also has the oldest churches.

We stop at a home with a large blue door .. and the views are stunning but give an impression that Santorini is flat and covered by vineyards instead of being a caldera. 

The one fascinating feature of homes here is a long, deep chimney for ventilation. And the strong winds make howling noises through the chimneys.

In Pyrgos, we visited vineyards ... but that’s a different story.

Old Blue Doors

Paşabağ, also known as Monks Valley, is home to Cappadocia’s most striking fairy chimneys, where centuries-old hermit cells and chapels add a spiritual dimension to the surreal landscape.
1. Fairy Chimneys: Walk among Cappadocia’s iconic fairy chimneys, towering rock formations that seem almost otherworldly in their shape and size.
2. Hermit Cells and Chapels: Explore ancient hermitages carved into the rock, including chapels that once served as places of worship for reclusive monks.
3. Easy Access Trails: Enjoy well-maintained paths that make it easy to explore the valley’s highlights, whether you’re on a quick visit or a leisurely stroll.

Visitor Tip: Visit during the golden hour for magical lighting that enhances the valley’s surreal beauty. Pair your trip with a stop at nearby Devrent Valley for a full day of exploration.

Monks Valley

If you are interested in rare natural phenomena and want to learn more about marine life, you should head to Mexico's Pacific coast. One of the best spectacles is the annual whale migration, where you can catch unique glimpses of humpback whales. 

The largest mammals on earth have earned their reputation as the most beautiful, intelligent, and impressive creatures. If you watch the ocean at migration time (either from the shore or on a boat tour), you'll see baby whales leaping and maybe even hear mother whales calling their families together. The baby-whale season is from January until the end of April.

But the Pacific coast is not only known for whales. It's just as beautiful to watch sea turtles hatch. If you come at the right time, you can witness mother turtles laying hundreds of eggs overnight in the soft sand on the coast, and much later, those hundreds of babies hatch and crawl toward the sea. Come between late August to early October.

Portugal’s Rota Vicentina is a spectacular network of coastal and inland hiking trails along the rugged southwestern coastline of the Alentejo and Algarve regions. Stretching for over 750 km (466 miles), these well-marked trails pass through stunning cliffs, wild beaches, rolling sand dunes, and charming fishing villages, making it one of Europe’s most breathtaking long-distance walking routes. The Rota Vicentina is divided into two main paths: the Fishermen’s Trail, which hugs the dramatic coastline, and the Historical Way, which winds through cork forests, rural farmland, and traditional villages.


1. The Fishermen’s Trail, one of the most scenic routes in Europe, follows clifftop paths, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and hidden coves.

2. The Historical Way takes hikers inland through rolling hills, cork oak forests, and remote villages, showcasing the authentic culture of the Alentejo.

3. Wild beaches and dramatic rock formations, including Praia da Amália, Praia do Malhão, and the famous Cabo Sardão, where storks nest on sea cliffs.

4. Charming fishing villages, such as Zambujeira do Mar, Vila Nova de Milfontes, and Odeceixe, offering cozy guesthouses and fresh seafood along the route.

5. A rich ecosystem, home to rare birds, wildflowers, and diverse marine life, making the route perfect for nature lovers and photographers.

Visitor Tip: The best time to hike is spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) for mild weather and fewer crowds. Pack sturdy hiking shoes, plenty of water, and sun protection, as some sections have little shade. For a shorter experience, try a one-day walk between villages along the Fishermen’s Trail.

Chania’s Old Venetian Harbor is a captivating blend of history and culture, featuring narrow, cobblestone streets lined with Venetian and Ottoman architecture. This picturesque harbor, with its iconic lighthouse and colorful waterfront buildings, is a must-visit for travelers exploring Crete.

The town Is made for walking with stone arches In bold colors, baroque architecture, churches from Spain and vibrant markets bursting with colorful woven garments like ponchos, hats & table cloth and handicrafts.

It’s the birthplace of chocolate 🍫 and there are several museums that teach how the Mayans made ‘the food of the gods’. Adjoining chocolate cafes serve decadent treats and chocolate liqueur.

The coffee ☕️ is divine too and apart from sampling the local shops, we visited a local plantation to learn about coffee making.

Antigua is one of our favorite Central American cities.

Azerbaijan

Buenos Aires, Argentina, is home to El Caminito, the most colorful and iconic street in the La Boca neighborhood. Known for its brightly painted houses, tango performances, and vibrant street art, this pedestrian walkway is a living museum of Argentine culture and history. Once a working-class immigrant district, La Boca has transformed into a hub for art, music, and photography, making it a must-visit destination for travelers.


1. Colorful Corrugated-Iron Houses, originally built by Italian immigrants, have been transformed into an open-air art gallery, creating a striking and lively atmosphere.

2. Tango Performances in the Streets, where couples dance to live accordion and guitar music, offering a glimpse into Buenos Aires’ most famous cultural tradition.

3. Local Artisan Shops & Street Art, featuring handmade crafts, paintings, and murals depicting famous footballers, tango legends, and Argentine history.

4. Boca Juniors & La Bombonera Stadium, located just a few blocks away, is a pilgrimage site for football fans wanting to explore Argentina’s deep passion for the sport.

5. Caminito’s Historic Connection to Tango, named after the famous tango song "Caminito", composed by Juan de Dios Filiberto, capturing the spirit of old Buenos Aires.

Visitor Tip: Visit during the day (preferably in the morning) for the best light and safest experience, as the area can be less secure at night. Avoid eating in tourist traps—venture into San Telmo or Palermo for authentic Argentine cuisine after your visit.
