This special experience takes you off the beaten path into the world of a truly local family in Lunlunta, Mendoza. For over 30 years, Juan Marcos Juricich — a softly spoken agronomist and beekeeper — has lived and worked on this small finca with his children, who now help him run the place. Upon arrival, you'll explore the estate with Federico, the youngest son and a winemaker who produces organic wine from grapes lovingly grown on the family plot. You'll sample his latest blends fresh from the tanks and, if you like what you taste, you can even bottle your own wine to take home. 

Through Federico, you will learn about Juan's storied beekeeping and organic honey production methods. There is a chance to try the honey and, depending on the season, hold the hives. To wrap up the experience, Federico will fire up the parrilla for a home-cooked asado, served under the trees with laughter, stories, and wine. This is not a show. It’s a slice of Mendoza life — shared the way it’s always been.

This experience brings you into a real working farm and the home of a family who live off the land, producing wine and honey. You’ll get up close with the bees, understand their significance to the local ecosystem, and learn how Juan, an agricultural engineer and respected apiculturalist, specializes in queen bee breeding and sustainable apiculture.

Mila will meet you at the main entrance to Huaca Pucllana. The archaeological site is located in the Miraflores district of Lima. It is walkable from some hotels, and easy to get there by Uber.

Milagro Campos Llontop, Mila, is a Lima-based cultural guide, artist, and educator with over ten years of experience in heritage interpretation and socially responsible tourism. She studied Drawing and Painting at the National School of Fine Arts of Lima and holds a specialization in Sustainable Tourism.

She has worked at several museums and archaeological sites across Lima as a local guide and educational program designer and is one of the few official tour guides in the city specializing in Indigenous Folk Art. In 2022, Mila founded an Indigenous art experience project in collaboration with master women artisans from the Shipibo-Konibo Amazonian community based in Lima. Working directly with the president of the community, the project supports cultural revitalization and generates direct economic income for more than 200 master women artisans. 

Italy

This nighttime photography experience invites you to explore Rome as the city shifts from the blue hour into full evening light. You begin near the Colosseum, capturing its form from elevated viewpoints where Roman pines and shrubs frame the monument in unexpected ways. As daylight fades, the mix of deep blues and warm architectural tones creates a vivid palette that defines the opening part of the walk.

As traffic builds, you experiment with long exposures, shaping light trails that cut across the foreground and give energy to the scene. You continue through a quiet side street where the Colosseum reappears between lampposts, their reflections softening the cobblestones and adding depth to each shot.

The final stretch moves toward the Imperial Forums, the illuminated Markets of Trajan, and Michelangelo’s Piazza del Campidoglio, before reaching the Caffarelli Terrace. From here, the skyline opens toward St Peter’s, offering one of the most striking night views in the city.

Maya heritage doesn’t exist only at Yucatán’s remote archaeological sites. It is also present in Mérida, embedded in places where past and present coexist. This downtown mini-archaeology walking tour, with short taxi rides when needed, offers a way to engage with the city’s heritage through sites often missed by visitors.

The route begins near the former Jesuit university buildings now associated with Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán (UADY), where you visit a colonial-era church built using stones from an earlier Maya structure, with carved blocks still visible in its walls. From there, you travel to Chen Hó, a small but impressive archaeological site located within Mérida’s urban area, and then to Xoclán Eco-Archaeological Park, a green space with visible Maya remains and a markedly quiet atmosphere despite its proximity to surrounding neighborhoods.

You'll learn how Sardinian filigree is created—from raw materials to the delicate process that gives each piece its unique character. In his studio, Francesco introduces the region’s iconic forms: traditional wedding rings, ornate buttons worn on bridal gowns, and pendants that tell stories of Sardinia’s past. These collaborators are involved in design conversations and credited for their work — an approach that reframes craft as shared authorship rather than anonymous tradition.

Rather than presenting textiles as aesthetic objects alone, the experience situates them within worldview and practice. Each piece is discussed in relation to the region that produced it — the dyes, fibers, techniques, and cultural meanings embedded in its structure. An artisanal drink and snack are offered during the visit, extending the hospitality of the house and reinforcing its character as a lived, working space rather than a showroom.

Since 2013, she has been working directly with makers, learning through shared processes, conversations, and everyday practice. After living in Oaxaca for eight years and working at the Textile Museum of Oaxaca, she developed a deep connection to the region’s textile traditions and the communities who sustain them.

She invites visitors to slow down, get their hands involved, and experience craft from the inside. Whether through textiles or ceramics, the focus is on learning directly from artisans – understanding materials, techniques, and the stories behind them. Each experience is designed as a space for exchange, curiosity, and meaningful connection. Her colleagues at Onora collaborate with artisans from across the country to create contemporary textiles and objects, using traditional techniques that reflect their cultural identity.

Gianmario Pedroni is a Sardinia-born professional photographer. After honing his skills in England, he specialized in advertising, fashion, and design, collaborating with prominent photographers and brands. In 2009, he returned to Sardinia to establish his studio, focusing on the island's breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. A passionate hiker, he has been exploring these mountains since childhood.

Corviale is one of the most ambitious and controversial housing projects ever built in Rome. Conceived in 1972 and stretching for nearly a kilometer, this massive complex—locally known as Il Serpentone (“the big snake”)—was inspired by Brutalist and Rationalist architecture and designed to house 8,500 people.

Essaouira, Morocco, is home to the enchanting Essaouira Medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its unique blend of Moroccan, Berber, Arab, and European architectural influences. Built in the 18th century and designed by French engineer Théodore Cornut, the medina’s grid-like layout and fortified walls reflect a rare fusion of European military design with traditional Islamic architecture. With its whitewashed buildings, blue-shuttered windows, and maze of cobbled streets, the medina offers an unforgettable experience for culture lovers, shoppers, and photographers alike.


1. Narrow, winding alleys lined with artisan shops selling handcrafted goods, including woodwork, jewelry, woven textiles, and traditional Moroccan ceramics.

2. The medina’s vibrant souk offers everything from spices and leather goods to locally produced argan oil and natural beauty products.

3. Admire the striking blue and white architecture, with charming doorways and colorful shutters that reflect Essaouira’s laid-back, coastal character.

Essaouira Medina

This is the view of The Red City, Marrakech’s medina from the panoramic terrace of Maison de la Photographie.

The museum of photographs is fascinating in how it came about – two famous photographers, Patrick Menac’h and Hamid Mergani, brought together their common passion for vintage Moroccan photography, and pooled their photos for the public to admire. Here I realize how black-and-white photos can dramatize the light-and-shadow effects in the medina.

From the terrace, you can have a glass of mint tea, and wonder about the thousands of satellite dishes that dominate the view. 

It’s peaceful here. On a clear day, you can see the snow-clad High Atlas Mountains. But you can’t see the chaos of Djemaa el-Fna, or hear shouts of ‘Balek!’ whenever donkey-carts come through laden with heavy goods. You can’t see the ‘hand of Fatima’ good-luck symbols painted on the carts after they have ambled past you. Or count the number of chickens being transported on the back of a groaning Vespa.

Pausing in the Frenzy

For centuries, the Ponte Vecchio has captivated visitors with its unique array of jewelry shops. Meanwhile, Piazza della Signoria has remained the political heart of Florence, hosting significant events and showcasing monumental art and architecture. Things to look for:
1 - Ponte Vecchio's Timeless Appeal: This medieval stone bridge has spanned Florence's Arno River for almost 700 years. Its three shallow arches support a row of shops, creating a stunning reflection over the waters. The bridge has withstood floods, wars, and the passage of time, serving as a merchant's stage and a site of historical events, including the tragic murder of Buondelmonte de’ Buondelmonti in 1216, which fueled the feud between the Guelphs and Ghibellines​​. Today, the Ponte Vecchio is renowned for its fine jewelry stores and other offerings.

2 - Transformation Through Time: Initially, the Ponte Vecchio housed various trades, but by 1422, the Guild of Butchers monopolized the shops, turning the bridge into a market for meat, leather, and fish. This setup continued until the Medici era when Cosimo I de Medici, seeking to elevate the bridge's status, replaced the butchers with gold merchants, a tradition that endures to this day​​.

3 - A Political and Cultural Hub: Since the 14th century, Piazza della Signoria has been the focal point of Florentine political and social life. It houses the imposing Palazzo Vecchio, Neptune Fountain, and Loggia dei Lanzi, among other significant landmarks. 

4 - Symbolism and Artistry: Piazza della Signoria features several iconic sculptures, including a copy of Michelangelo's David, marking its original location. The Neptune Fountain, built to celebrate a Medici wedding, represents the family's ascent to power. The Loggia dei Lanzi, a fine example of Florentine Gothic architecture, displays notable sculptures like Benvenuto Cellini's "Perseus" and served as a stage for official ceremonies during the Republic era​​​​​​​​​​​​.

Ponte Vecchio, P.ZZA Signoria

Siurana is a stunning medieval village perched atop a cliff in Catalonia, offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. This tiny village is a haven for history buffs, climbers, and anyone seeking a serene escape.
1. The narrow cobblestone streets and stone buildings retain the village’s medieval charm.
2. Views from the cliffside are breathtaking, overlooking the Siurana Reservoir.
3. The village’s small church, Santa Maria de Siurana, is a beautiful historic landmark.
4. Siurana is also famous for its rock climbing, with world-class climbing routes nearby.
5. The surrounding countryside offers hiking trails and opportunities for outdoor exploration.

Visitor Tip: Wear comfortable shoes and bring a camera to capture the incredible views and charming streets.

Medieval Village of Siurana

Pinacoteca di Brera is one of Milan's most prestigious art galleries, housing a significant collection of Italian and foreign art from the 13th to the 20th century. Located in the Palazzo di Brera, which dates back to the late Baroque period and was built on the remains of a 14th-century monastery, the Pinacoteca shares its space with the Academy of Fine Arts. Why is this a cool place to visit?
Historical Significance: The gallery was born out of a political action, distinct from other major Italian museums that originated from private collections of monarchs or noble families. The Brera Gallery was officially established in 1809, although its first collection existed from 1776 alongside the Accademia di Belle Arti, instituted by Maria Theresa of Austria. 

Notable Masterpieces: The Pinacoteca di Brera's collection includes several world-renowned masterpieces. Some of the top paintings housed in the gallery are "The Marriage of the Virgin" by Raphael, "The Feast in the House of Simon" by Paolo Veronese, "Supper at Emmaus" by Caravaggio, "Last Supper" by Peter Paul Rubens, and "The Kiss" by Francesco Hayez. Each of these works represents a significant period in art history and exemplifies the artistic mastery of their creators​​​​.You also have the opportunity to appreciate the meticulous restoration and preservation of artworks not presently showcased, through the glass walls of the gallery.

The Bonneville Salt Flats are not to be missed! A slight detour off I-80 near the UT/NV is a moon-like alternate universe not to be missed. Go for a quick run through the salt flats or just stop for a quick photo op or picnic!

Highlights from the photo-hike: ☀️Awe-inspiring view of Loch Cleat (above). 💦 Scrambling over the steep cliffs on springy heather. 🐾 Checking out the structures that have been named — The Needle, The Prison, The Table — and naming those that haven’t. ⚡️Noting the exact moment when the weather turns on us. ❄️ Getting shrouded in mist and fog, and unwittingly playing hide-and-seek at the top of the ridge (this is, after all, where locals hid their sheep from raiding Vikings). 💨 Howling winds over 50 mph trying to gust us off the slopes. 💧Rain coming down in full force. ☁️ Feeling my spine tingle as clouds swirl around me in this unreal landscape.
