This private wine masterclass takes place in the vaulted cellar of a wine bar in central Bordeaux reserved exclusively for you. You're welcomed by Sarah Seguret, a WSET Level 4 wine specialist, and by Romain, who runs the venue and produces his own wines. Rise and shine: long before the sun makes its arrival over the valleys of Atacama Desert, you'll be on the road to one of the main gateways to the Andean highlands of Chile. This is a full-day photographic odyssey of some of the Atacama's most shocking natural wonders where you will contemplate important high-altitude ecosystems rich in biodiversity and cultural significance. These include the wetlands of Machuca and Putana, the Tatio Geyser, the Cactus Canyon, and the Puritama Hot Springs.

This experience is delivered by a professional photographer who will mentor you through the process of capturing the landscapes. As a private excursion focused on photography, the pace is slower than typical tours operating to these beauty spots. You will take your time at each destination and spend time perfecting your shooting skills and watching for wildlife. The activity concludes by bathing in the warm waters of the Puritama Thermal Springs. 

This experience stars one of the Atacama's most famous natural wonders and two of its hidden gems. It concludes at what is perhaps the only relaxing activity in the region—bathing in the thermal springs of Puritama. As a photography experience, the day maintains a slower pace and a steady focus on studying the landscapes in finite detail. 

Beyond the theatrical geyser spectacle, the Putana and Machuca wetlands are especially captivating to explore. Inhabited by the Atacameño people for centuries, Mirko will explain how farmers use these grasses and marshes uphold traditional llama and alpaca herding practices. There are opportunities to photograph Andean flamingos, vicuñas, and such birds as Puna Ibis and giant coots before stopping by the village to sample llama cheese empanadas. The Cactus Canyon (Quebrada de Guatín) is another spot skipped by most tours. Here, you'll encounter towering cacti used for traditional medicine, tools, and rituals.

A calçotada is a seasonal Catalan ritual (November–April) centered on the communal roasting and eating of calçots - sweeter, elongated onion-like shoot cultivated in trenches.  

You’ll depart Barcelona in private car, into the Catalan countryside. Your destination: a working garden where calçots (pronounced kal-sotz) are grown, harvested and prepared over open fire. 

Along the way, you’ll stop at the Royal Monastery of Santes Creus, a medieval Cistercian abbey built in 12th century, with Gothic cloisters, royal tombs and austere architectural purity.  

At the garden, you’ll meet the farming family and learn about the cultivation of calçots. Then comes the feast: calçots grilled until the outer layers blacken, wrapped in newspaper to steam and eaten by hand — peeling away charred exteriors and dipping each stalk into romesco (or a similar sauce). Expect to get your fingers messy, and partake in what is, by design, a convivial, generous meal. This is as farm-to-table fresh as it gets.

A calçotada is a food experience that is sociable, traditional, delicious, and playful. It’s about ritual, regional identity, rural air, fire, laughter, wine, and the earth that grew your food. The ritual of gathering friends for a gluttonous afternoon to eat them defines Catalan winter life in rural areas. Each year, over 2 million wildebeest, zebras and antelope migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Maasai Mara in Kenya in search of water and fresh grazing . Experiencing this during July-October is an absolute spectacle.

The Mara Triangle is particularly great for watching river crossings in August and September - perilous for the animals as the river is packed with wily Nile crocodiles.

We stay with this herd of zebras for 3 days - waiting for them to decide to cross. It’s a matter of life and death for them - so they are understandably cautious  The zebra get to the banks more than 20 times, giving up at the very last minute, often spooked by a territorial hippo or a sneaky crocodile.

Finally, a brave zebra leaps forward into the water. And a second one follows fast. Suddenly it’s mayhem with hundreds of zebras and wildebeest splashing into the river.

Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes

Sant’Antioco Island, located off the southwestern coast of Sardinia, is the fourth-largest island in Italy and a hidden gem of history, nature, and charm. Connected to the mainland by a narrow isthmus, this island is a treasure trove of archaeological sites, picturesque beaches, and authentic Sardinian culture. With its blend of unspoiled landscapes and vibrant traditions, Sant’Antioco offers a serene escape for travelers seeking something unique. 
1. Archaeological wonders include the Tophet, a Punic sanctuary, and the Necropolis, showcasing the island’s deep-rooted Phoenician and Carthaginian history. 
2. The Basilica of Sant’Antioco Martire, dedicated to the island’s patron saint, features underground catacombs, offering a fascinating glimpse into early Christian history. 
3. Pristine beaches like Maladroxia and Coaquaddus boast crystal-clear waters, golden sands, and a tranquil atmosphere perfect for relaxation.

Visitor Tip: Plan to spend half a day to a full day exploring Sant’Antioco. Wear comfortable shoes for walking the archaeological sites, and don’t miss the chance to enjoy a meal by the sea at a local trattoria.

Sant’Antioco Island

Antelope Canyon may be the most famous of Utah’s slot canyons,  but if you want to avoid the large crowds, go to Buckskin Gulch - harder to reach but possibly, more enjoyable.

Wire Pass, a gorge carved through the Cockscomb by Coyote Wash, is the most popular entry route into Buckskin Gulch. It takes 1.7 miles to get to the slot canyon from the trailhead. Wire Pass is short, less than half a mile, but its slot canyon is even more confined than Buckskin, and makes for spectacular photos.

Buckskin Gulch twists its way for another 13 surreal miles, but we turn back after a couple of miles to head back to the trailhead. We’ve stopped every few feet to capture various angles of the rock and light - and literally run out of time. You could certainly do a wonderful all-day hike here.

1. The Hemisfèric, shaped like a giant eye, houses an IMAX cinema, planetarium, and laser show—a must-visit for science and astronomy enthusiasts.

2. The Oceanogràfic is Europe’s largest aquarium, featuring immersive marine habitats from Arctic waters to tropical seas, and a stunning underwater tunnel where sharks swim overhead.

3. The Museu de les Ciències Príncipe Felipe offers interactive science exhibits and hands-on displays that are perfect for curious minds of all ages.

4. The Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía, an architectural wonder, hosts world-class opera, ballet, and concerts inside its ultra-modern structure.

5. The Umbracle, an open-air garden walkway filled with native plants and contemporary sculptures, offers stunning views of the entire complex—perfect for photography at sunset.

The coastal towns near Begur, such as Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu, and Llafranc, offer some of the most picturesque seaside scenery in Catalonia. With charming whitewashed buildings, crystal-clear waters, and sandy coves, these towns are perfect for a relaxing getaway.
1. The beaches, surrounded by pine forests and cliffs, are ideal for swimming and sunbathing.
2. Coastal paths, like the Camí de Ronda, provide scenic hiking opportunities between coves.

The baby-whale season is from January until the end of April.

But the Pacific coast is not only known for whales. It's just as beautiful to watch sea turtles hatch. If you come at the right time, you can witness mother turtles laying hundreds of eggs overnight in the soft sand on the coast, and much later, those hundreds of babies hatch and crawl toward the sea. Come between late August to early October.
