At the Bramante Staircase, you’ll see the original 1505 helical ramp built for papal carriage traffic, and when permitted, you could climb it to experience the shallow, continuous slope and feel how it was made to move people and horses. You’ll begin at the Crane and Turtle Garden where Ayumi introduces the foundational principles of Japanese garden design: symbolism, placement, interplay between nature and intention. 

A short walk takes you to a second temple where the garden reflects nature in miniature — a landscape composed to invite observation. You’ll learn to see and photograph the space mindfully.

This private, 4-hour ceramics experience invites you to create a decorative piece while enjoying a few glasses of wine and empanadas. Mendoza is as celebrated for its thriving arts community as it is for its world-renowned Malbec wines. You will learn about the artisan process of ceramics, from modeling to decoration, culminating in a unique piece to take home as a reminder of your time in Mendoza. This may be a plate or a cup; Lucila will discuss the options with you prior to starting.

In addition to exploring your creativity, you will also sample wines from local Mendoza wineries and enjoy delicious locally made empanadas, making this a full experience for the senses. No previous experience is needed—just a desire to enjoy and learn.

Someone described #Churchill as “the warmest coldest tundra town”. It is a friendly, curious town. It also claims to have 300 days of northern lights. 

Basically, if you happen to be in Churchill on a clear night, prepare to wake up, dress up in layers (quickly), and be enthralled. 

Last Sunday night, when most had turned back in after what looked like an “average” aurora display, we waited and were rewarded with lovely green ribbons and curtains.
