Chile

Rise and shine: long before the sun makes its arrival over the valleys of Atacama Desert, you'll be on the road to one of the main gateways to the Andean highlands of Chile. This is a full-day photographic odyssey of some of the Atacama's most shocking natural wonders where you will contemplate important high-altitude ecosystems rich in biodiversity and cultural significance. There are opportunities to photograph Andean flamingos, vicuñas, and such birds as Puna Ibis and giant coots before stopping by the village to sample llama cheese empanadas. Over 20 years ago, Maestro José lost his sight to glaucoma. What could have been an end became a beginning. Relying on touch, intuition and memory, he continued sculpting—his hands guided by a sense of form that doesn’t require vision. Today, he’s internationally recognized not only for his work, but for the spirit behind it. His ability to craft such detailed and expressive pieces without sight has earned him the moniker "manos que ven"—hands that see. 

Unlike many of Oaxaca’s 70+ pottery communities, where skills are passed down generationally, Maestro José is self-taught. He began by making animals from clay as a child. His greatest collaborator is his wife, Maestra Teresita, who adds the details to his sculpted forms. Their work is a living love story—quietly powerful and unlike anything else.

Their adult children now contribute their own custom pieces, and the family workshop also includes a tattoo studio upstairs—proof that creativity here takes many forms.

This city known for its wine is just gorgeous. Though hot in summer, it is stunning! Definitely worth a visit and if you have time the surroundings small town also known for their wine. 

In Bordeaux, be sure to walk down rue sainte Catherine, the longest pedestrian street in Europe! There will be plenty of shopping to do, and the main square with the cathedral is also a must see. The bell tower is not attached to the church and is able to be climbed for gorgeous views.

Designed by the renowned architect Mimar Sinan for Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent, this grand mosque complex combines elegance, spiritual serenity, and historical significance. Its striking silhouette dominates the skyline, while the tranquil courtyards and sweeping views make it a favorite for visitors and locals alike.

Australia

Kakadu National Park is half the size of Switzerland and a real adventure. If you rent a car, you could drive along the road for weeks, camping in different places and experiencing nature in a way you can't anywhere else.

After leaving Darwin in a rented 4x4 jeep, we made the long drive to Kakadu National Park. Take plenty of drinks and snacks with you, as there aren't many stops on the road. Along the way, we visited several refreshing waterholes and waterfalls, had an open-air barbecue, and saw many birds, snakes, anthills, and farmland along the way.

At night we mostly stayed at campsites that provided tents, and the beauty of the night is incomparable. You can hear, smell, and see countless species of animals, from alligators swimming in lakes at night to dingoes howling, to weirdly chirping insects.

We hiked to a hidden waterfall and discovered some hundreds-of-years-old wooden paintings done by the ancestors of Australia's indigenous people. A must-see in Australia for sure!
