Daniel Flores is a Mexican artist and the director of the Producción Gráfica Zanate printmaking workshop. He specializes in graphic arts and printmaking and has participated in numerous group exhibitions throughout Mexico and internationally. He has also received several grants for projects focused on graphic and plastic arts production within various communities across the state of Oaxaca. Daniel has been working professionally in the Mexican art world since 2002.

He founded Gráfica Zanate in 2007, and the studio continues to produce annual printmaking portfolios in collaboration with artists from Oaxaca, Puebla, Mexico City, and abroad.

Alongside Daniel, the "maestro" of Gráfica Zanate, you’ll meet the studio’s team of experienced local artists: Viridiana Carmona, Marco Patiño, and Marco Antonio Santos.

Begin your day in the ancient village of Kapıkırı, exploring the weathered stone walls and ruins of ancient Heraclea, scattered among traditional village homes and olive groves. 

From there, board a small boat for a serene ride across Bafa Lake. You’ll circle Menet Island, once home to Byzantine monks, and take a short walk among its hidden chapels and ancient stonework. Futuristic Canvas: MAXXI

Essaouira, Morocco, is home to the mystical Bordj El Berod, the ruins of a 17th-century watchtower that stands dramatically along the windswept coastline just south of the city. Shrouded in legend, this partially submerged fortification is believed by some to have inspired Jimi Hendrix’s song “Castles Made of Sand.” As the sun sets, the silhouette of the crumbling tower against the backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean creates one of the most breathtaking views in Essaouira, making it a must-visit spot for photographers and nature lovers alike.

Visiting Western Australia's Nambung National Park and the Pinnacles Desert is a must.

Located at the southern gateway to Australia's Coral Coast, along the Indian Ocean Drive, the Pinnacles Desert of Nambung National Park is one of the major natural attractions in the region and are Western Australia's most visited attractions.

The park is located roughly 200km, or 2 hours' drive north of Perth, and covers an area of 17,487 hectares providing natural habitat for an extensive array of native animals and bird life.

The Pinnacles are amazing natural limestone structures, formed approximately 25,000 to 30,000 years ago after the sea receded and left deposits of sea shells. Over time, coastal winds removed the surrounding sand, leaving the pillars exposed to the elements. The Pinnacles range in height and dimension - some stand as high as 3.5m!

Desert limestone formations

The Agora Open Air Museum is a window into İzmir’s ancient Roman history, featuring the remains of a grand marketplace dating back to the 4th century BC. Nestled in the heart of the city, this archaeological site lets visitors wander among towering columns, ancient archways, and well-preserved stone structures, offering a glimpse into life in ancient Smyrna.

Agora Open Air Museum

Paisagem Protegida Local da Fonte da Benémola and Rocha da Pena are two of Portugal’s hidden natural treasures in the Algarve region. Both areas offer an escape into the countryside, ideal for walks through diverse ecosystems and picturesque trails that showcase a different side of the Algarve’s beauty beyond its famous beaches.

1. Fonte da Benémola is a lush, river-fed landscape where springs and wetlands create a cool, green oasis. Along the gentle paths, you’ll see a unique mix of vegetation like oleanders and tamarisks, and may even spot wildlife such as turtles, kingfishers, and otters. The relatively flat trail makes it a family-friendly spot to experience the Algarve’s natural wonders.

2. Rocha da Pena, known for its impressive limestone cliffs, provides a more challenging hike with breathtaking panoramic views. The trail ascends to a plateau at about 480 meters, where you’ll be rewarded with sweeping vistas over the Algarve countryside. Dario Moreno Street is a charming, cobblestone avenue known for its colorful facades and artistic atmosphere. It leads to the historic Asansör (Elevator), a 1907-built structure designed to connect the lower and upper parts of İzmir with ease. The top of the elevator offers spectacular views of the city and the sea, making it a must-visit spot for photographers and history lovers alike.
1. This quaint street boasts cobblestone paths and colorful facades that exude old-world charm.
2. It is named after the famous Turkish-Jewish singer and artist, Dario Moreno, adding cultural significance to the area.
3. The historic Asansör, built in 1907, is an iconic elevator that connects two levels of the city.
4. At the top of the elevator, sweeping panoramic views of İzmir await.
5. The cafes at the top provide a delightful spot to enjoy a drink with stunning cityscapes as a backdrop.

Dario Moreno Street & Asansör

Fruity, dry, red, white, sweet, sparkling — wine is delicious, and the best way to discover what this powerful potion has to offer is to take a bike tour through the vineyards (yes, on a bike). Mendoza is the best place to choose one of the hundreds of tour operators. 

Mendoza is the most popular wine-growing province in Argentina. And Bodega Tempus Alba has a perfect climate for growing high-quality grapes, and the majestic Andes Mountains provide the backdrop for some of the most beautiful pictures of vineyards to be found anywhere in the world.

Whether you're biking or not, a proper tasting tour will give you enough wine to come home tipsy. That's why I recommend eating well before your tour and taking a break when the magic of wine goes to your head.

I also spent some time hiking in the area, exploring the small villages in the area, and eating the best Argentine empanadas around. A trip for the senses, for sure.

3. Artisan workshops and boutiques offer handcrafted nativity scenes (Presepi) on Via San Gregorio Armeno, a side street famous for its detailed, handmade figurines—especially vibrant during the Christmas season.

4. The street is filled with local life and street performers, creating an energetic and authentic atmosphere. Exploring Spaccanapoli allows visitors to feel the pulse of daily life in Naples.

5. Hidden courtyards and underground sites like Napoli Sotterranea reveal layers of history beneath the surface, including ancient Greco-Roman ruins and WWII-era shelters.

Visitor Tip: Wear comfortable shoes—the cobblestone streets can be uneven—and explore in the late afternoon to enjoy both the lively atmosphere and the golden glow over the city’s historic facades.
