Andrea's own work in mezcal emerged from an extensive family history, where numerous memories and experiences have been intrinsically linked to the enjoyment of this spirit, always accompanied by good food and music. Since 2010, Andrea has been an integral part of the new narrative being woven around mezcal from Guerrero, actively contributing to its recognition and appreciation both nationally and internationally. 

Andrea's knowledge encompasses not only the specific culture of Guerrero, but extends to the diverse traditions that exist throughout the length and breadth of Mexico. She is certified as a Master Mezcalier and as a Leader in Food and Beverage Sensory Evaluation.

Morocco

This one-of-a-kind private, 90-minute cooking class at the Sign Language Café in Marrakesh blends traditional Moroccan pastry-making with the fundamentals of sign language. Led by the café’s talented deaf chefs, the class guides you through preparing beloved Moroccan pastries like crepes and milk pastilla. As you bake, you’ll learn basic gestures in Moroccan Sign Language—enough to engage, communicate, and connect in meaningful ways with your hosts.

In the heart of the historic centre, fearless riders gallop through the narrow stone-paved streets in a daring race known as Sa Carrela ‘e Nanti.

The highlight? A centuries-old ritual where horsemen aim to strike two cloth hens hanging along the route, blending athletic skill and ancient folklore. You’ll be guided by an expert photographer who helps you capture the energy and beauty of the event, while introducing you to locals who’ve lived this tradition since childhood. The streets come alive with Sardinian songs, colors, and stories.

The day ends with a hearty lunch in a typical spot, where you’ll taste local recipes in a warm, rustic setting. Santu Lussurgiu, nestled among the Montiferru hills, is a timeless village rich in charm and tradition.

Massimiliano is a professional photographer, artist, and tour guide. After graduating at University Paris 8 in Photography, he began working as a photojournalist and lived in Tuscany and Paris before moving to Sardinia in 2011 with Eva.

Together, they co-founded their venture to connect people with Sardinia's beauty by blending art, nature, and authentic Sardinian life, characterized by community bonds and genuine hospitality.

This walk explores a different side of Florence, away from the museum circuit and into San Niccolò and the Oltrarno, where medieval streets, artisan workshops, wartime history, and Renaissance churches still shape life today. With Guido, you begin in San Niccolò, among small workshops and streets known for perfume makers and local trades. You stop for a hot slice of pizza and a glass of wine at a neighborhood bakery before heading towards the river.

Along the Lungarno, Guido traces the Second World War through this part of the city, explaining what happened here during the German occupation and why Ponte Vecchio, the gold trade, and the Vasari Corridor matter to that story. From there, the route continues into the Oltrarno, through streets overlooking the Arno and towards Palazzo Pitti, Santa Felicita, and Santo Spirito. The walk ends with the friars’ cloister and Michelangelo’s wooden crucifix, where Guido introduces the artist’s anatomical studies.

This experience offers access to a part of Florence that has preserved much of its local character. San Niccolò and the Oltrarno remain tied to workshops, studios, and neighborhood businesses that still shape life here. 

Guido’s storytelling is the thread that connects everything. Along the Lungarno and across Ponte Vecchio, he links the better-known landmarks to the smaller episodes that unfolded between workshops, church squares, and corners along the river. The wartime history here is not incidental, and Guido uses this — together with the gold trade and the Vasari Corridor — to build a narrative about what Florence chose to preserve.

The ending in Santo Spirito deepens that approach. Guido brings you to Michelangelo’s wooden crucifix, carved while the young artist was studying anatomy in the convent’s morgue. Guido places equal value on history and on the people who live and work here, showing how Florence is still made through craft, relationships, and the patient work of hands.

My sister and I flew into Las Vegas to then see the Grand Canyon. We woke early to get picked up at our hotel and the tour took us to the Hoover Dam, a stop on Route 66 (where the Cars movie took place), and finally the Grand Canyon. We did an easy hike but it took about 4 hours. We stopped multiple times for pictures. It was amazing. The pictures don’t do it justice. 

My sister and I wish we had spent more time there and maybe hiking a different trail.

These seaside villages are known for their hidden coves, picturesque beaches, and whitewashed houses, making them ideal for relaxing, hiking, and enjoying fresh seafood along the coast. Whether you’re seeking quiet coves, scenic hikes, or vibrant culture, these towns offer something for every traveler.

1. Calella de Palafrugell
A postcard-perfect fishing village with whitewashed houses, rocky coves, and the famous El Canadell Beach. Visit in July for the Habaneras Festival, a celebration of traditional sea shanties.

2. Llafranc
Known for its charming promenade and scenic views from the Sant Sebastià Lighthouse, Llafranc is ideal for beachgoers and foodies seeking fresh seafood by the water.

3. Tamariu
A quieter option with a beautiful crescent-shaped beach and turquoise waters, perfect for snorkeling and kayaking. The nearby Camí de Ronda hiking trail offers stunning coastal views.

Coastal towns near Begur

Australia

Kakadu National Park is half the size of Switzerland and a real adventure. If you rent a car, you could drive along the road for weeks, camping in different places and experiencing nature in a way you can't anywhere else.

After leaving Darwin in a rented 4x4 jeep, we made the long drive to Kakadu National Park. Take plenty of drinks and snacks with you, as there aren't many stops on the road. Along the way, we visited several refreshing waterholes and waterfalls, had an open-air barbecue, and saw many birds, snakes, anthills, and farmland along the way.

At night we mostly stayed at campsites that provided tents, and the beauty of the night is incomparable. You can hear, smell, and see countless species of animals, from alligators swimming in lakes at night to dingoes howling, to weirdly chirping insects.

We hiked to a hidden waterfall and discovered some hundreds-of-years-old wooden paintings done by the ancestors of Australia's indigenous people. A must-see in Australia for sure!

Camping: Kakadu National Park

The Roman Amphitheater in Via del Teatro Romano, Trieste, boasts a rich history dating back to the end of the 1st century BC. This impressive structure, dating back to the 1st century AD, offers visitors a captivating glimpse into the grandeur and spectacle of Roman civilization. Key highlights:
1 - The Roman Amphitheater, carved out of rock, once seated thousands of spectators, eagerly gathered for gladiatorial combats and public spectacles. Its elliptical structure, with the remnants of tiered seating and central arena, evokes the powerful aura of ancient Roman entertainment and social life. The structure, hidden over the centuries by surrounding buildings, was rediscovered in 1814 and fully unearthed in 1938 during a demolition. 
2 - This archaeological marvel provides invaluable insights into Roman architectural genius. You can see the sophisticated design and engineering techniques used in its construction, including the intricate system of underground passages where gladiators and animals were held before contests, showcasing Roman innovation and craftsmanship.
3 - Notable for its architecture that utilizes the natural slope of the hill, the amphitheater could accommodate between 3,500 to 6,000 spectators and was built primarily of masonry, with a wooden stage. Today, the amphitheater serves as a vibrant cultural venue. It hosts various cultural events, including open-air concerts, theatrical performances, and historical reenactments, bridging the past and present and bringing ancient Rome's spirit to life for contemporary audiences.
4 - Walking through the amphitheater, you truly embark on a journey back in time. Each stone and corridor tells a story of the past, from the roar of the crowd to the bravery of gladiators, offering a tangible connection to the rich history and traditions of Roman society.

Thirassia Island, a tranquil neighbor to Santorini, offers a glimpse into the Cyclades’ past with its unspoiled charm and slower pace of life. Separated from Santorini by the caldera, this small island feels like stepping back in time, with traditional villages, scenic landscapes, and authentic Greek hospitality. Perfect for a day trip or an off-the-beaten-path adventure, Thirassia is a haven for nature lovers and those seeking a quieter side of the Aegean. 
1. The quaint settlements of Manolas and Potamos feature narrow alleys, whitewashed houses, and peaceful surroundings, perfect for a leisurely stroll. 
2. From the island’s elevated points, you can admire breathtaking vistas of Santorini’s caldera from a unique perspective. 
3. Thirassia offers serene beaches like Korfos Bay and Agia Irini, where you can swim, relax, and enjoy the crystal-clear waters. 
4. Taste authentic Greek dishes at the family-run taverns, featuring freshly caught seafood and local specialties.

Next to it, the Royal Chapel (Capilla Real) houses the tombs of Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand II, the Catholic Monarchs who completed the unification of Spain. Buenos Aires, Argentina, is home to Recoleta Cemetery, one of the most famous cemeteries in the world, known for its ornate mausoleums, Gothic sculptures, and the tomb of Eva Perón (Evita). Dating back to 1822, this labyrinth of elaborate tombs and crypts serves as the final resting place for Argentine presidents, military heroes, and cultural icons. With its hauntingly beautiful atmosphere and rich history, Recoleta Cemetery is a must-visit for history lovers, photographers, and those intrigued by Buenos Aires' aristocratic past.

Barcelona, Spain, is home to the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (MNAC), a spectacular museum showcasing one of the most comprehensive collections of Catalan art in the world. Located inside the grand Palau Nacional on Montjuïc Hill, the museum offers a journey through a thousand years of art, from Romanesque frescoes to Modernist masterpieces.
