The itinerary spans four locations in downtown Santiago, each accessed by metro during this outing.

Upon meeting your host, Flor, at La Moneda Cultural Center you will view the current textile exposition installed at the gallery before continuing onwards to the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center. These centers serve as an introduction to traditional weaving styles still prevalent in modern Chilean and Andean cultures. Flor will then take you to her go-to yarn store, the ultra-funky Revesderecho, and explain about different fibers while sharing the historical development of store items for context. The experience concludes at the Los Dominicos Craft Village in Las Condes where Flor will facilitate conversations with artisans.

Flor has curated this experience as an opportunity to learn about Chilean textiles in a relaxed context. While visiting two cultural centers, a modern yarn store, and an artisan village, you will "unravel" the history and cultural significance of textile design and learn how techniques are woven into the fabric of modern-day Chile. The cultural centers are in themselves an exciting place to tap into modern Chilean culture. Florencia Campos Correa, or Flor, is a Chilean-Spanish textile designer and author based in Santiago. Her business, Ullvuna, is dedicated to portable pin loom weaving kits which are available globally. Much of Flor's inspiration comes from her passion and appreciation for Chilean culture and people. She deeply admires the landscapes and nature as well as the ancient fables she absorbed as a child while traveling every corner of Chile by caravan with her family.

Flor has authored several books packed with vibrant pattern inspiration and projects. Her nature motifs are translated into floral crochet designs published in a British magazine and she has penned a children's story which inspires creativity and entrepreneurship in the youngest of budding designers. 

Morocco

Your day begins at the Spanish Mosque, then set out for a 3-hour hike through peaceful trails at the edge of the Rif Mountains. Andrea Bustillos studied in Madrid and has led cultural projects that strengthen contemporary art. She directed a gallery focused on painting and now manages a program promoting Creative Industries in Mexico. She has curated numerous exhibitions and loves responsible trade projects and local gastronomy.

Andrea Villers studied in Granada and holds a master’s in Curatorial Studies from UNAM. She directs a cultural consultancy, developing exhibitions and researching the cultural sector in Mexico and Latin America. She also designs strategies for organizations investing in culture. Passionate about modern and contemporary art, she is deeply engaged with Mexico City’s cultural scene.

Argentina

Saddle up for a 1.5-hour horseback trek in the Andes Mountains, carefully timed to coincide with sunset. As the last of the light fades, you will return to the gaucho estate to continue the evening, socializing with the family over a traditional Argentine asado (barbecue) featuring roasted vegetables, salads, fresh bread, and local Mendocinian wine. After dinner, gather around the bonfire with a glass of wine and enjoy a brief folk guitar session—a traditional gaucho touch that brings the night to life under a sky heavy with stars.

This experience includes pickup and return to your hotel in the city of Mendoza. Upon arrival at the mountain ranch, you’ll get acquainted with your horse and receive a brief safety lesson—novices through to experienced riders are accommodated. Your bilingual gaucho guide will lead the way into the mountains at a leisurely pace, stopping to savor the wild landscapes and capture photos along the way.

Not only does this experience provide the thrill of riding a horse through the world's longest mountain range, but it also immerses you in gaucho culture from start to finish. Before embarking on the trek, you will bond with your steed and learn about the unique connection between gaucho and horse. The route traverses an area of raw natural beauty, untouched by modern developments and illuminated by stars instead of city lights. Seeing these remote valleys bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun is the icing on the cake.

Upon returning to the estate, you’ll settle by the fireside with a glass of Mendocinian wine. The asado will then commence, inviting you to taste Argentine beef, seasonal vegetables, and freshly baked bread while conversing with Diego and Lucía and hearing stories of the gaucho way of life and Criolla customs. Rather than feeling like a spectator, you’ll be welcomed into the family and experience the spirit of the gauchos firsthand.

Begin with three days in Barcelona, where Manila recommends focusing not on checklists but on rhythm: explore historic neighborhoods, check out design ateliers, sample Catalan cuisine, and seek out the quieter corners still alive with local tradition. | Head south into the wine country of Priorat, a lesser-known region with rolling hills and medieval villages. Stay in Siurana, a cliffside hamlet with sweeping views and access to local winemakers. | Continue to the Ebro Delta, one of Spain’s richest ecological regions. This itinerary reflects what Manila calls the “true essence of Catalonia” — a place of cultural pride, natural beauty, and distinct local identity. Manila first arrived in Barcelona more than two decades ago, while finishing her studies in Rome. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”
What keeps her in Barcelona is the balance of tradition and openness. “The cuisine, the olive groves, the vineyards — they remind me of southern Italy, but they’re uniquely Catalan.” And the city’s connectivity has made it easy to stay rooted while maintaining close ties to Italy. She speaks with admiration about the people: “Catalans are proud, resilient, and united. They have a strong sense of identity and community. Whether through demonstrations or cultural festivals, they come together. They’re efficient and organized, but also keep that relaxed Mediterranean vibe. It’s a unique combination.”
