This private visit gives you access to the Vatican at a human pace with a dedicated guide who provides context and detail. You start in the Vatican Museums — ancient marbles, papal collections of art, and the Raphael Rooms, where the School of Athens faces its companion frescoes across the suite.

An exclusive access route opens two spaces normally closed to regular visits. At the Bramante Staircase, you’ll see the original 1505 helical ramp built for papal carriage traffic, and when permitted, you could climb it to experience the shallow, continuous slope and feel how it was made to move people and horses. In the South Sardinian countryside, far from crowds and rush, you step into a working textile atelier where time is measured in gestures: spinning, twisting, threading, and weaving. Slowly, by hand. The atelier is set inside a Sardinian medau, a rural homestead typical of the region and inhabited by many families.

The experience is an immersion into sea silk (byssus) and traditional weaving practices, guided by textile artist Arianna Pintus. You learn what byssus is, why it is so rare, and how it is woven through a careful, patient process. The setting is intentionally intimate and quiet: not a “show,” but a respectful approach to a material that asks for presence.

Alongside byssus, Arianna also shares her work with linen, creating a dialogue between natural elements. You leave with a deeper understanding of what “slow making” truly means and with the sense of having touched a fragile, precious thread of Sardinia’s living heritage.

The distinctiveness of this experience lies in the coherence between Arianna’s practice and her way of inhabiting time. Her work with sea silk comes from a recovered chain of knowledge: she sources the material from an existing food supply chain, where it would otherwise be discarded, restoring meaning to a fiber that survives today only through rare and time-intensive practices. She also grows the linen she works with, following its cycle from cultivation to thread and grounding the textile process in direct contact with the land.

Equally distinctive is her decision not to accumulate. Arianna does not produce stock, allowing the pace of making to remain aligned with the slow processes the materials require. This approach keeps the work intentionally slow and sustainable.

Experience the elegance of Ottoman miniature painting in this exclusive workshop that incorporates the rich tradition of gold leaf detailing. Historically, miniature paintings were adorned with gold to highlight figures, landscapes, and celestial elements, lending them a luminous, almost divine quality. Held at a studio in the Fatih District, this three-hour workshop allows participants to engage with this rare and luxurious technique under the guidance of master artist Şeyma Çınar.

During this session, you will learn the fundamentals of miniature painting, from traditional brushwork to layering vibrant pigments. You will also work with real gold leaf powder, mastering the delicate application techniques that add depth and brilliance to miniature art. While you take in the techniques you'll have a chance to chat with Şeyma over Turkish tea and snacks and learn about her artistic journey.

The host, Şeyma Çınar, is a master artist specializing in miniature art, Tezhip (Islamic illumination), and floral designs since 1998. With formal certification from Turkey’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, she has dedicated over 25 years to studying and teaching the intricate techniques of Ottoman miniature painting. Having participated in multiple exhibitions and published work on Islamic art, she brings both technical expertise and cultural depth to the workshop, ensuring participants leave with a rich understanding of this ancient craft. She will be accompanied by a translator, allowing everyone to fully engage with her insights and expertise.

Agdz & the Draa Valley

Once a symbol of imperial might, El Badi Palace in Marrakesh now stands as a striking ruin, echoing the glory of a bygone era.
