This portrait photography session makes you the main character on the stage of Buenos Aires. Curated by a professional travel photographer whose work has been published all over the world, you will leave the activity with impeccable images commemorating your time in the Argentine capital. Bernardo is a charming host who also peppers this experience with anecdotes about the locations covered, his career as a photographer, and Porteño life. 

Bernardo typically runs this experience in the La Boca neighborhood, where you will pose to an aesthetic backdrop of colorful tenement buildings and street art around Caminito. However, the location may be changed to another barrio such as Puerto Madero, Plaza de Mayo, or Palermo Soho. Bernardo uses a full frame mirrorless camera and pro lenses in order to achieve the maximum image quality. He also uses a professional flash lighting system with diffusers when the natural light isn’t sufficient.

This private photoshoot experience is hosted by a professional travel portrait photographer from Buenos Aires. Bernardo delights just as much in showing travelers around his home city as he does helping them to capture photographic mementos from their time in the Argentine capital. As such, his photoshoot is thoughtful and unhurried, allowing plenty of time to experiment with poses, lighting, and accessorizing (if desired).

La Boca, one of the prettiest and most beguiling neighborhoods, is the stage of the photoshoot. Bernardo will be guided by the natural light, using external flashes and modifiers when needed to create a soft atmosphere for photography. He works around your preferences—suggesting spots to take the photos but also being open to any suggestions. There will be time to capture individual and group photos as well as to change clothing or add accessories. While this experience focuses on photography, Bernardo will share tales and anecdotes as you journey through La Boca.

Adeline guides you through two defining monuments of medieval Paris on Île de la Cité, the island that formed the political and spiritual center of the city.

At Notre Dame, you explore the cathedral from its 12th-century foundations through its Gothic expansions, its ribbed vaults, flying buttresses, and interior spaces while addressing the fire of 2019, the international fundraising that followed, and the reconstruction.

Then continue to Sainte Chapelle, a short walk away within the former royal complex. Here you encounter a different architectural language, defined by extreme verticality and luminous stained glass panels that narrate biblical stories in intense color. Adeline explains the original purpose of the chapel, built to house the Crown of Thorns.

Adeline Verspieren is a licensed guide based in Paris. She was born and grew up in the Upper Marais, a creative, trendy, and historic district of the city, and now lives near Parc Monceau, where she chose to raise her three children.

She holds a master’s degree in 18th-century French history from the Sorbonne, focusing her studies on the Grand Tour, an aristocratic rite of passage. She has worked in tourism since 2010, guiding travelers from around the world through Paris.

Alongside her work as a guide, she has a strong personal interest in the arts, including music, exhibitions, theater, opera, and cinema, reflecting a broader curiosity and openness to cultural exchange. This same attitude extends to hospitality: over the years, she has welcomed people in different ways, both by guiding them through the city and by hosting travelers in her own space in the Marais.

This experience follows the full arc of ikebana, starting at Rokkaku-dō Temple, a historical site that the Ikenobō school locates as the origin of ikebana in Kyoto. Here, Ryoko introduces the cultural and spiritual foundations of Japanese flower arrangement as an ancient art. 

Next, at Hanamasa, a flower shop in Sanjo with a long history of supplying shrines and temples, you choose the seasonal stems that shape your creative process, selecting the materials you will later work with. From there, the experience continues to Ryoko’s private studio along the Kamo River. While you typically enjoy a scenic walk to the studio, she provides comfortable transportation in inclement weather or for guests with limited mobility. 

In a serene setting, you learn the fundamental principles of ikebana — balance, line, and negative space — and compose your own arrangement using the flowers you selected earlier. The session closes with light refreshments and time to sit with the work you have made.

The experience follows a beautiful sequence — story, material, practice. Encountering ikebana in Kyoto, where it grew out of the practice of offering flowers at Buddhist altars and later developed into a formal art, gives it special relevance. You come to understand that ikebana is not generic Japanese flower arrangement, but a discipline refined over centuries, particularly during the Muromachi period.

Instead of working with stems selected in advance, you choose the flowers and carry them to the studio. What you make is shaped by the path that led there. In Kyoto, ikebana is tied to seasonality and to a way of seeing the life of plants as they appear in nature, not simply their final appearance in a vessel.

Ryoko’s guidance is shaped by Mishō-ryū, a school that pays close attention to nature. She teaches these ideas with clarity for international guests while keeping their cultural depth intact. You leave with the confidence to carry the practice beyond this experience.

Ryoko Arnwine is a floral designer and ikebana practitioner based in Kyoto. Her work is rooted in years of study in Mishō-ryū ikebana in Osaka, where she trained. She worked as a floral designer at The Ritz-Carlton Osaka and then brought that practice to New York, continuing her floral work and opening her a ikebana shop before returning to Kyoto, the city where the tradition first took shape.

Her teaching brings together long study in Japanese floral tradition and more than fifteen years of practice across Japan and New York. Shaped by a school that emphasizes close observation of nature, her approach is grounded and attentive to the cultural ideas that give ikebana its depth.

Ryoko’s cross-cultural background shapes how she teaches and designs today, blending the traditions and training she grew up with and the modern influences she has embraced along the way. This allows her to explain complex Japanese aesthetic ideas to international guests without simplifying or flattening them.

Portugal

You will also meet Andrea, the farm owner, who will share his unique insights and stories. Plus, you will get a chance to talk to the shepherd and the farm hands.

The experience begins in Urzulei with an e-bike ride through the rugged beauty of Supramonte to an old sheepfold. You’ll follow a scenic dirt path that winds across limestone plateaus and holm oak forests, passing grazing animals and wide, open views that stretch across Ogliastra’s Blue Zone. The electric assist allows for a smooth and relaxed pace, letting you fully take in the raw, silent charm of this landscape.

Once you leave the bikes behind, a 2-km hike begins. You’ll walk through peaceful terrain to reach the Millenary Yew, a protected natural monument, and continue to a nearby Giant’s Tomb. The trail ends at the karst pond of Pischina ’e Urthàddala, with views over Sa Giuntura and the upper entrance to Gorropu Canyon.

Back at the sheepfold, Giamba and Rob will treat you to a traditional aperitivo featuring local delicacies — offering a taste of Sardinia’s land, stories, and slow rhythms before the final e-bike ride back to Urzulei.

This experience takes you through a remote and peaceful corner of Sardinia, where wild nature sets the pace and every step invites a slower, more mindful rhythm. Riding through the Supramonte landscape on an e-bike, then exploring it on foot, allows you to connect with the land in a way that feels both active and meditative.

The last nomadic, herding tribe in southern Africa, they still maintain their dress and traditions. Red ochre paste for sun protection. Smoke from herbs for cleansing and perfume. Intricate hairstyles. Lots of leather jewelry. A beauty routine that takes three hours every single day to complete.

1 - Ponte Vecchio's Timeless Appeal: This medieval stone bridge has spanned Florence's Arno River for almost 700 years. Its three shallow arches support a row of shops, creating a stunning reflection over the waters. The bridge has withstood floods, wars, and the passage of time, serving as a merchant's stage and a site of historical events, including the tragic murder of Buondelmonte de’ Buondelmonti in 1216, which fueled the feud between the Guelphs and Ghibellines​​.
