This private, 4-hour ceramics experience invites you to create a decorative piece while enjoying a few glasses of wine and empanadas. Mendoza is as celebrated for its thriving arts community as it is for its world-renowned Malbec wines. You will learn about the artisan process of ceramics, from modeling to decoration, culminating in a unique piece to take home as a reminder of your time in Mendoza. This may be a plate or a cup; Lucila will discuss the options with you prior to starting.

In addition to exploring your creativity, you will also sample wines from local Mendoza wineries and enjoy delicious locally made empanadas, making this a full experience for the senses. No previous experience is needed—just a desire to enjoy and learn.

As the finished ceramic piece must be fired after the workshop, if you would like to keep it, you will need to collect it one week later or arrange to have it shipped. Shipping costs are not included in the price of the experience.

This experience begins with a walk through the historic center of Tempio Pausania, known as the “City of Stone” for its granite buildings. The route leads to the old railway station, a Liberty-style building opened in 1931, with original wooden interiors and pictures by Sardinian artist Giuseppe Biasi.

The highlight is a private, exclusive performance by the Coro Gabriel, one of Sardinia’s oldest vocal ensembles. They sing the tasgia, a rare polyphonic chant that evolved from the UNESCO-listed canto a tenore. Unlike its predecessor, the tasgia features all four voices singing lyrics and includes improvisational shifts in tone and harmony, echoing elements of jazz. With fewer than twenty practitioners left, this is a rare chance to hear it live.

Gianmario, a native of Tempio and a member of the choir, shares insights into this evolving tradition. His ties to the group offer an intimate perspective on Sardinian culture, set in the town that has long been the cultural heart of Gallura.

Spain

The great American novelist and journalist Ernest Hemingway spent some of the best days and nights of his life in Madrid. Starting as a young aficionado of the bullfights, he returned as a foreign correspondent for dangerous reporting assignments during the Spanish Civil War, and later shared drinks around town with visiting Hollywood stars of the 1950s. Much of his best fiction was based on these experiences in Madrid and across Spain.

This tour brings Hemingway’s Madrid to life. You will visit some of his favorite Madrid spots, hear stories from his life and times, and hit all the places the man himself would have taken us to.

These include classic beer halls, elegant hotel lounges, cave-like basement bars, and the world’s oldest surviving restaurant. Many of these places were immortalized in his books, and most have barely changed since the author ate, drank, and wrote within their walls.

During Semana Santa, you watch one of Seville’s most important traditions unfold from a private balcony.

This exclusive annual experience is offered during Holy Week (March 29 – April 5, 2026) with limited availability each day.

Semana Santa in Seville dates to 16th century and blends social gathering with deep religious devotion. Solemn processions wind through narrow streets, organized by 70 of Seville’s church brotherhoods carrying large pasos — elaborate floats depicting scenes from the Passion of Christ or honoring the Virgin Mary. Candles, music, incense and the steady rhythm of processions transform the city throughout the week. In Seville, it has long been customary for local families to watch the processions from private balconies along the route.

The experience lasts about 90 minutes. From this vantage point, and depending on the day, you observe one or two processions pass below while a Sevillian host explains the traditions, symbolism and structure of the processions.

Semana Santa is a deeply rooted tradition. The pasos carried through the streets contain sculptures that are centuries old. Beneath them walk costaleros, who train throughout the year to carry the heavy structures while remaining hidden beneath the float. Around them move the nazarenos, penitents in tall hoods whose presence has been part of the procession for over five centuries. Watching from a balcony is a unique experience. From above you see the formation and choreography of the procession, and its rhythm of movement.

In Seville, balcony viewing during Semana Santa developed because the streets are extremely narrow, the processions move slowly, and crowds became difficult to navigate—even for locals. Families along the route began opening their balconies to relatives and guests. Today many of those same buildings still host balcony viewing along the official procession route. With access to one of these private balconies, you’re able to take part in this long-standing tradition.

Chiesa di San Giorgio

A road trip through Spain is literally the best option for those looking for a local, less touristic experience. You can basically rent a car anywhere you want – we started in Barcelona, heading down the coast, and taking stops in Ebro Delta and Denia and other sleepy beach towns down the road. One of our highlights was the Spanish town of Cartagena – a historical hub with beautiful angled roads, traditional culture to explore (expect to be invited to some Cerveza by the locals), and history lessons about Phoenician traders, Roman soldiers, and Christian Reconquistas. If you have some days left, visiting Andalusia is a must. It's by far the most beautiful region in Spain and is known for its majestic horse breed, pristine beaches, hot weather, and super friendly culture. 
All in all, it took us two weeks to get down the coast – but you can make it in a week as well – though you might have less time to explore, sunbathe, and learn about the history of Spain

Faroe Islands

Getting there on a little ferry tossed around on the surging Atlantic Ocean needs courage. As the boat uses all her resources to maneuver into a tight, rocky harbor, I wonder if the captain, who does this twice a day, is either extremely brave or completely suicidal. We step on to what looks like the sets of a Disney fantasy movie. Twenty colorful grass-roofed homes, one little schoolhouse - which has one child - and a bridge over the Atlantic.

I meet my guide Harald - a septuagenarian with poise to rival the curious sheep we see hanging precariously over the cliffs. Harald leads our little group on a 4-hour hike across the island to the lighthouse at the westernmost point of the Faroes.

Birds are everywhere - puffins, fulmars, kittiwakes, gannets - on the green hills, riding the ocean waves, occupying every inch of cliff space, filling the air with their calls, and circling the sky.

Capitoline Hill in Rome

Just a few kilometers south of Essaouira, Morocco, lies the sleepy village of Diabat, forever linked to the legendary musician Jimi Hendrix. Though his visit in 1969 was brief, Hendrix’s presence left a lasting mark on the area’s identity, blending the village’s laid-back atmosphere with a sense of rock ‘n’ roll mystique. Today, Diabat remains a peaceful retreat, known for its windswept beaches, local cafés, and rustic charm, drawing travelers and music lovers eager to connect with this slice of rock history.

Diabat & Jimi Hendrix

Hidden beneath the streets of Naples, the Galleria Borbonica is an underground tunnel system with a fascinating history dating back to the 19th century. Originally commissioned by King Ferdinand II of Bourbon as an escape route from the Royal Palace, the tunnels later served as a bomb shelter during World War II and a storage site for abandoned vehicles and artifacts. Today, visitors can explore this forgotten world beneath the city, where history, mystery, and engineering marvels come together.

1. A network of tunnels and cisterns reveals hidden passageways, aqueducts, and remnants of the city's ancient underground water system, once vital for Naples’ survival.

2. A collection of vintage cars and motorcycles remains abandoned in the tunnels, covered in dust and history, offering an eerie yet fascinating glimpse into mid-20th-century Naples.

Galleria Borbonica

Naples, Italy, is home to the extraordinary Sansevero Chapel, a hidden gem of Baroque art and mystery, located in the heart of the historic center. This small yet breathtaking chapel is most famous for the Veiled Christ, a marble masterpiece by Giuseppe Sanmartino that astounds visitors with its delicate, lifelike depiction of Christ covered in a translucent shroud. The chapel, commissioned by the enigmatic Prince Raimondo di Sangro, is also filled with symbolic sculptures, intricate decorations, and scientific curiosities, making it one of the most fascinating attractions in the city.

1. In the center of the chapel, the Veiled Christ stuns visitors with its remarkable realism, as the finely sculpted marble veil appears almost weightless over Christ’s lifeless body. The level of craftsmanship makes it one of the most admired sculptures in the world.

Veiled Christ

Essaouira, Morocco, is home to the iconic Skala de la Ville, a historic fortification built in the 18th century to defend the city against maritime invasions. Stretching along the edge of the medina, the ramparts offer panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean, the bustling Port of Essaouira, and the distant Îles Purpuraires. Famous for its bronze cannons lined up along the sea wall, this scenic spot also served as a filming location for productions like Game of Thrones. A walk along the ramparts offers visitors a perfect blend of history, breathtaking views, and incredible photo opportunities.
