This immersive, sensorial experience spans two half-days, honoring the ancestral craft of sourdough bread-making. Inspired by the ancient Greek myths of goddess Demeter and her daughter Persephone, it combines bread-making, storytelling and mindful rituals that honor the sacred grain of wheat.

On the first half-day, you’ll learn about the ancestral art of sourdough breadmaking, delving into the significance of wheat in ancient Greece and its connection to Demeter. Through a mindful practice, you’ll prepare the dough, engaging with the wheat, your senses and the land of Athens. The bread is left to ferment overnight.

On the second half-day, you’ll bake the bread and share it in a ritual of togetherness. Paired with curated seasonal local foods, this mindful eating ritual fosters community and gratitude. Immerse yourself in the fragrant world of an aromatic and medicinal herbs farm nestled in the picturesque region of Alentejo, Portugal. This experience invites you to explore the sustainable practices of organic farming and gain insights into the use of Portuguese aromatic herbs. You'll witness the farm's commitment to biodiversity and regenerative agriculture, making it a haven not just for plants but for pollinators like bees. The farm is home to a century-old olive grove and more than 45 plant species, each with unique gastronomical and medicinal properties. 

Rute and João will teach you all about traditional harvesting and drying techniques, plucking herbs straight from the garden to smell, taste and make art with. After the farm tour, you’ll join a Cyanotype printmaking workshop (or similar activity in winter) allowing you to take home your own herbarium. Then sit down for a multi-course lunch based on traditional Alentejo recipes under a shady ash tree or in the cozy greenhouse.

Completed rapidly for a medieval church, between 1329 and 1384, it maintains a stylistic purity rare for the era due to its construction within just 55 years. The church's interior, marked by its vast, open spaces and the widest column spacing of any Gothic church in Europe, creates an impression of sublime width, height, and airiness​​​​. It’s our favorite church in Barcelona, here’s why:
1: The church's interior is notably sparse in imagery, a result of damage from a fire in 1936 during anticlerical disturbances.
