Chile

This 3.8 km (2.4 miles) hike is staged in the dramatic Vilama River Canyon, also known as Cactus Canyon or Cactus Valley. This volcanic canyon is carved by the junction of the Puritama River — which means "hot water" in the Kunza language — and the "cold water" Puripica River. This unique mix creates an oasis that supports the highest concentration of the giant, tree-like cactus species, Echinopsis Atacamensis (Cardón). 

After a 35-minute drive from San Pedro, the circuit usually takes between 2.5 to 3 hours. Although you'll maintain a leisurely pace, this trek has a "moderate difficulty" rating, and requires physical stability and hiking experience. The terrain is uneven at times and requires the occasional use of hands to navigate rocky boulders. The route involves several river crossings (summer rain sees the maximum water level reach knee-height) and high elevation/temperatures. These components foster an immersive hiking experience with high potential for spotting local birds. 

Cactus Valley is a living ecosystem where giant cacti have thrived for centuries. Those passionate about natural history will feel in their element here—particularly as your guide is an expert on the Atacama Desert's geology, flora, and fauna. While steering you through this surreal environment, Valeria will share her knowledge of the different formations and how the confluence of the "hot" and "cold" rivers created a one-of-a-kind ecosystem. She will point out native bird species feeding on the desert flora and bathing in the water. Sightings may include the greenish-yellow finch, the variable hawk, mountain parakeets, and the black-billed shrike tyrant.

Hiking in the Atacama Desert comes with challenges relating to the arid atmosphere and high elevation. Although rated "moderate", this hike proves far more engaging than the average sightseeing tour. Valeria will ensure you feel safe at all times and urge you to cultivate a mindful experience with the flora, fauna, and terrain.

This is a 3-hour cooking experience at the Amal Women’s Cooperative Center, founded by the remarkable Nora Fitzgerald Belahcen. Rooted in empowerment and inclusion, the experience offers a hands-on introduction to Moroccan cuisine while celebrating the social impact of food.

You’ll begin with a short introduction to Amal’s mission—supporting women from vulnerable backgrounds by training them in the culinary arts. From there, you’ll dive into Moroccan cooking: exploring local spices, learning the stories of each dish, and preparing a traditional feast with fresh, seasonal ingredients. Some recipes are cooked over charcoal, using bellows to control the flame—an immersive detail that reflects Morocco’s culinary heritage.

You’ll be guided by a small, welcoming team trained in the spirit of Amal’s mission: to use food not only as craft and culture, but as a path to opportunity and connection. This pottery experience—a day trip from Naples—is designed for couples looking for a creative way to spend time together in an inspiring setting. Built on the site of the monastery from which it takes its name, La Merced is a legendary traditional public market in the historic center of Mexico City. This private, intimate food tour is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of Mexico City—including its more chaotic side.

You’ll start in the Downtown Historic Center, where you'll meet your host before walking directly to La Merced market. There, you’ll wind through the market’s lively banquetón, or prepared food area, tasting different tacos, quesadillas, aguas frescas, and tamales.

After that, you’ll stroll through the gigantic fruits and vegetables building and learn about—and taste—prehispanic delicacies such as grasshoppers and agave worms. As the market can sometimes be a little overwhelming, your host will make sure you stop to rest. Upon meeting your host, Flor, at La Moneda Cultural Center you will view the current textile exposition installed at the gallery before continuing onwards to the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center. These centers serve as an introduction to traditional weaving styles still prevalent in modern Chilean and Andean cultures. Flor will then take you to her go-to yarn store, the ultra-funky Revesderecho, and explain about different fibers while sharing the historical development of store items for context. The experience concludes at the Los Dominicos Craft Village in Las Condes where Flor will facilitate conversations with artisans.

Florencia Campos Correa, or Flor, is a Chilean-Spanish textile designer and author based in Santiago. Her business, Ullvuna, is dedicated to portable pin loom weaving kits which are available globally. Much of Flor's inspiration comes from her passion and appreciation for Chilean culture and people. She deeply admires the landscapes and nature as well as the ancient fables she absorbed as a child while traveling every corner of Chile by caravan with her family.

Flor has authored several books packed with vibrant pattern inspiration and projects. Her nature motifs are translated into floral crochet designs published in a British magazine and she has penned a children's story which inspires creativity and entrepreneurship in the youngest of budding designers. 

Türkiye

This experience offers a rare opportunity to explore Cappadocia’s rich artistic traditions while engaging directly with local artisans. Begin with a visit to a textile workshop, where you’ll uncover the intricate patterns and symbolic designs woven into Cappadocia’s famous carpets, a craft passed down for generations.
