After meeting your local host in the village, you will set off on a three-hour hike to Kinsaccocha Lake — a walk through wetlands and open pastures surrounded by mountains. Along the way, you'll learn about native plants, resident wildlife, pastoral traditions, and the spiritual importance of these mountains and lakes in Andean culture. Pilar works as part of a self-managed association formed by eight Quechua ayllus (communities) in the Andes mountains of Peru's Sacred Valley. Dedicated to rural community tourism, this association aims to preserve ancestral culture through responsible activities hosted by members of these Indigenous communities.

While Pilar is the Experience Maker who designs, organizes, and coordinates this activity, your experience will be hosted by one such local community member, as well as a bilingual guide whose name will be provided ahead of your experience. This experience is centered on the historic workshops that still give life to Testaccio, a district shaped by labor and craftsmanship. At its heart is a rare encounter inside a restoration atelier founded in 1987, where antique dolls are brought to life. Your host Irene will introduce you to her parents Gianni and Eliana - the founders - who share the delicate process of repairing porcelain faces and preserving the memories these objects carry.

The walk continues through the neighborhood and the stories that influenced its identity: the old slaughterhouse complex, the amphora-stacked hill known as Monte dei Cocci, and the covered market that still anchors local life. Irene brings a deep knowledge of Testaccio’s social history, showing how her family’s workshop grew out of the same working-class fabric that defines the district.

The experience ends with a stop at a historic pastry shop where you’ll taste a maritozzo con panna and learn the story behind its name — and generous filling.

Mexico

Built on the site of the monastery from which it takes its name, La Merced is a legendary traditional public market in the historic center of Mexico City. This private, intimate food tour is perfect for anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of Mexico City—including its more chaotic side.

You’ll start in the Downtown Historic Center, where you'll meet your host before walking directly to La Merced market. There, you’ll wind through the market’s lively banquetón, or prepared food area, tasting different tacos, quesadillas, aguas frescas, and tamales.

From Venice to Burano, it's a 20-25 minute ride by private water taxi (can be booked via your hotel) or a 45 minute ride on the public vaporetto (runs from 5 AM onwards, check exact time with hotel).

You'll learn how Sardinian filigree is created—from raw materials to the delicate process that gives each piece its unique character. Santa Maria del Mar, known as the "Cathedral of La Ribera" in Barcelona, is a sterling example of pure Catalan Gothic architecture, distinguished by its harmonious proportions and serene ambiance. Completed rapidly for a medieval church, between 1329 and 1384, it maintains a stylistic purity rare for the era due to its construction within just 55 years. The church's interior, marked by its vast, open spaces and the widest column spacing of any Gothic church in Europe, creates an impression of sublime width, height, and airiness​​​​. It’s our favorite church in Barcelona, here’s why:
1: The church's interior is notably sparse in imagery, a result of damage from a fire in 1936 during anticlerical disturbances. Despite this loss, including the destruction of the Baroque retable by Deodat Casanoves and Salvador Gurri, some stained-glass windows from various periods have survived, contributing to the church's luminous atmosphere​​.
2: The basilica's design boasts very tall slender columns that are 13 meters apart, supporting three naves of equal height. This unique structural approach contributes to the church's feeling of spaciousness, with its maximum height matching its total width at 100 medieval feet​​​​.
