Discover the magic of Xochimilco’s wetlands and the agricultural and culinary traditions of its floating gardens: chinampas. Learn about the area's aquatic plants while rowing through canals at dawn in a traditional cayuco. - and hearing about ancestral traditions and the coexistence between humans and nature. 

At an eco center located on a 1200 year-old chinampa you see axolotl, the mythical amphibian once considered a delicacy of Aztec gods. You'll also meet Lupita, a Xochimilco native who welcomes you with organic coffee. She explains how the first inhabitants developed milpa, an ancestral and sustainable system of crop production. You may see small offerings once placed beneath crops by Xochimilca women, honoring Chicomecóatl, the corn goddess.

You explore the chinampa's crops and pick your favorites. Lupita will ask you to help her make a delicious green salsa, which, along with the freshly harvested salad and tlacoyitos filled with beans, will be your fresh, organic lunch.

This is not a party trajinera tour. Instead, you'll experience Xochimilco in a mindful and peaceful way. Japan

This six-hour tour moves through Kyoto’s eastern districts, connecting a series of temples, streets, and spaces that reflect the city’s changing aesthetics and philosophies. It begins at Ginkaku-ji, where the idea of wabi-sabi — imperfection, transience, restraint — shaped how Japan thought about beauty. From there, you follow a canal path once walked by philosopher Nishida Kitaro, passing smaller temples and homes that remain part of Kyoto daily life.

You’ll visit a major Zen complex, see a 19th-century brick aqueduct that cuts through temple grounds, and step inside a museum holding centuries-old screen paintings, protected as National Treasures. Along the way is a seasonal lunch rooted in Kyoto’s vegetable-forward cuisine.

The final stretch brings a shift in scale: panoramic views from Kiyomizu-dera, followed by a walk through Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, two of the most well-preserved historical streets in Kyoto. The tour ends here in a place you can continue exploring on your own.

Unlike its more gilded sibling, Kinkaku-ji, this temple was never meant to dazzle. Built by Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimasa in the 15th century, it reflects a life of restraint, beauty, and retreat. Holy Week in Málaga is one of the city’s most revered traditions. Each year, the streets become a living stage for devotion, history and collective memory. Over the course of the week, approximately 45 formal processions organized by over forty brotherhoods (cofradías) move through Málaga’s historic center, carrying lifelike wooden sculptures of Christ and the Virgin Mary.

Semana Santa in Málaga is distinguished by the scale of its processions through the city’s narrow streets. Here, the floats—known locally as tronos—are monumental platforms bearing sculpted scenes of the Passion of Jesus Christ and images of the Virgin Mary. The tradition of carrying tronos in Málaga spans centuries. These tronos are carried by teams of hombres de trono, men who undergo extensive training to bear extraordinary weight.

From a private balcony on Calle Larios, guests witness the physical and emotional intensity of the procession at close range: the synchronized movement of the hombres de trono, the cadence of drums, and the slow advance shaped by discipline and faith. Your journey begins in Chioggia aboard a topa — a traditional flat-bottomed boat restored by your host, Damiano. Known as “Little Venice,” Chioggia has long lived in the shadow of its famous neighbor — but with its own traditions and tempo. As you glide down Canal Vena and under low bridges, daily life in the lagoon unfolds from a water-level view: fishermen docking, laundry hanging above the canals, neighbors chatting across boats. Damiano, who lives here, shares the rhythm of his hometown and points out the markers of its past and present.

From Chioggia, the topa crosses open water toward Pellestrina. Mussel farms stretch out across the lagoon; wooden stilt houses rise above the tide. Pellestrina sits on one of the barrier islands that protect the lagoon from the Adriatic — a working village shaped by water, with a low skyline and painted facades that glow under the sun. The return route traces slower canals with wide lagoon views.

The experience ends at the oldest mansion on Cerro Artillería—a photographic treasure trove—where you may opt to stick around for lunch or a Pisco Sour.
