Susana and Angelo are passionate founders who put in their heart and talents to the development of the center and the support for the grannies. Susana is a designer and Angelo is a psychologist, both believe in the natural potential of people, who just need the right stage to shine.


This full-day photography excursion takes you to two contrasting natural wonders in the Atacama Desert of Chile: the Valley of the Moon (Valle de la Luna) and Rainbow Valley (Valle del Arcoiris). It is hosted by Mirko, a professional photographer specializing in landscapes and wildlife and a licensed guide. Upon leaving San Pedro de Atacama, Mirko will pull over at one of his favorite viewpoints to appreciate the sunrise over the Andes mountain range. While sipping coffee and sharing a breakfast of marraqueta bread rolls, you'll warm up your photography skills for the day by shooting the soft morning light. 

You will then explore the ravines and dunes of Moon Valley, coming to understand how it earned its name. After lunch at a local restaurant in San Pedro de Atacama, you'll head to the Cordillera Domeyko to study the 3,000-year-old petroglyphs of Yerba Buenas before ending the day in the multi-colored Rainbow Valley.

Mirko has selected these two locations for their contrasts. The morning is spent exploring the salt mines, rugged amphitheaters, and sweeping dunes of Moon Valley where Mirko will explain the geological anomalies. By visiting early in the day, you're spared the inevitable afternoon crowds and have a more relaxed photographic experience. 

The afternoon takes place at two of the Atacama Desert's hidden treasures: Yerbas Buenas and Rainbow Valley. Yerbas Buenas (Hierbas Buenas) is an open-air exhibit of pre-Columbian rock carvings which provide insight into ancient Indigenous cultures. Mirko will explain the symbolism behind the petroglyphs and how these served as more than pretty pictures! In Rainbow Valley, the mountains are painted hues of red, green, white, yellow, and blue as a result of the oxidation of different mineral deposits over millions of years. You will arrive in time to catch the soft light of the waning sun. Lunch in town serves as a way to chat informally with Mirko.

Before starting, Marcela will share anecdotes relating to Concón and Valparaíso. Under her guidance, you'll try your hand at crafting a monotype print inspired by Chile's landscapes and mythology. Marcela will support you through creating the design and nurturing your natural talent and proving that everyone has an inner artist. By the time the activity is complete, your print will be ready to take away. No prior experience or skills in drawing or printmaking are necessary. To conclude your trip to Concón, Marcela will serve a light "once" of tea and pastries as well as recommending local seafood restaurants in the "Gastronomic Capital of Chile".

The experience provides rare access to the home studio of a professional Chilean artist. Marcela's portfolio spans lithography, painting, and folk art and she will share rich insight into Chile's artisanal legacy and culture while you create—storytelling lies at the heart of this activity. Marcela's studio stands above the Higuerillas fishing hamlet in Concón, a short drive from Viña del Mar or Valparaíso. This quiet area is rarely visited by international tourists which means you'll experience a truly local community. 

In terms of inspiration, you only need glance outside where dunes tumble to meet the waves of the Pacific and seals cling to rocky crags. This residential neighborhood is alive with flora and avifauna while Marcela, well-versed in Chilean mythology, has further visual prompts to kindle your creativity. Refreshments and pastries are provide—if you're lucky, you may get to try "pancito amasado" bread baked by Marcela's father, a retired lighthouse keeper.

Marcela Rodriguez is a contemporary multi-media artist. Born in 1965, Marcela grew up living in lighthouses with her lighthouse-keeper father along the rugged Southern Chilean coast. The vast Patagonian landscape and turbulent Pacific Ocean greatly influenced her. While in college, she discovered street theatre and performed with two important Santiago theatre troupes.

In 1992, Marcela moved to Minneapolis, USA, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and an MFA in painting and drawing. In 2001, she moved back to Chile and developed a passion for printmaking, focusing on lithography. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries throughout Chile, Mexico, Cuba, and the USA.

Marcela has completed two art residencies for printmakers, including a month-long one in Veracruz, Mexico at La Ceiba Grafica in 2018 and with renowned artists from “Taller 99” in Santiago, 2019. She currently lives and works as a visual artist in Concon, Chile, and teaches at Casa Plan in Valparaíso.

The route includes streets with unusual names and corners shaped by archaeology, local lore, and centuries of lived history.

Leading the walk is Isabella, a licensed guide and art historian with deep roots in the city. Her focus isn’t on tourist landmarks but on spaces where time has settled quietly. With every stop, she draws your attention to small details—how a wall leans, how a name survived—that open up a deeper understanding of Rome's evolving identity.

Gianmario Pedroni is a photographer and a Sardinian choir member. After honing his skills in England, he specialized in advertising, fashion, and design, working with prominent photographers and brands. In 2009, he returned to Sardinia to establish his studio, where he captures the region’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture while actively participating in local traditions as a member of a traditional choir.

Türkiye

This Jun-Sep experience explores Didyma after dark, when the Temple of Apollo opens for night museum hours and the site is illuminated. Departing from Izmir (or Kuşadası) or Bodrum around 16:30, you travel by private vehicle for 90 min to Didim for an early dinner — simple dishes timed to fit the schedule — while your host frames the myths and history you’re about to see. 

From 19:30–21:30, you enter the sanctuary and walk through one of antiquity’s most imposing Ionic temples which Strabo, the Ancient Greek geographer once described as a “temple within a forest of columns.” 

Hatice — a licensed guide, storyteller and culture expert — walks you through the colossal Ionic plan, unfinished cella enclosure, Medusa reliefs, column drums and bases and the Sacred Way that once linked Didyma to Miletus. With cooler air, fewer visitors and dramatic lighting, this is an awe-inspiring visit that reveals both the monumentality and intimacy of an oracle site. Return to Izmir is around 23:00.

You experience Didyma after dark in summertime — part of Türkiye’s Heritage for the Future initiative — with custom multi-toned lighting and restored walkways that highlight architectural details often lost in daylight. Hatice connects architecture and archaeology to culture and ritual: how oracles once operated here, why the Hellenistic temple remained unfinished despite its vast plan, and how the Milesian procession arrived from the coast. On this trek, you'll follow the same scenic route both to and from Sidi Chamarouch as it's part of the trail leading to the Toubkal Summit. She needed an internship for her thesis and chose Barcelona without expecting how quickly she’d feel at home.“Barcelona, 22 years ago, was a different place,” she says. “It was less cosmopolitan, more local. I remember wandering through narrow streets and finding tiny bars with real flamenco. It felt genuinely lived in.”
 “Tourism has definitely changed things,” she admits. “Places like La Rambla are overcrowded. Many locals have been pushed out by the rise in tourist rentals. But Catalans are proud of their traditions. They’ve started resisting these changes to preserve the city’s character.” That character is what Manila has grown to love. “I chose Barcelona because I felt an immediate connection. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the weather, the proximity to mountains and sea — it feels like home but also stretches me outside my comfort zone.” She relishes the contrast to her native Sicily. “I can take a train and be skiing in the Pyrenees in just over an hour. Where else do you get that?”

Sicily, Between Earth and Sky

A road trip itinerary across Sicily, from hill towns and temples to volcano and coastal villages.

On a sunrise photo-walk, we are at Piazza San Marco. At 5AM, it’s empty, other than for a few pigeons, and a photo enthusiast like ourselves. And we run across - with tripods - to get to the Canal looking out towards San Giorgio Maggiore Island.

Our objective? To watch and photograph gondolas swaying in the canals of Venice. It’s perfect for long exposure shots. The gondolas and docks are lit up by street lights and the sky has the perfect blend of dark and light.

We then rush over to the vaporetto stand near Europa & Regina Hotel overlooking Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute, for another Gondola scene (pictured) while the light is still good.

So, how many gondolas can you get into one frame?

We head out down the Grand Canal to the Rialto Fish Market. Some sellers are packing up after a good morning, but we’re able to get some great shots of everyday life. 

We walk back over Rialto bridge (great for photos of activity on the Canal) back to the hotel for breakfast.

At the close of the turtle hatching season, in January this year, when only a handful of nests remained, we assisted Mel Tennant, fondly known as The Turtle Man, in releasing 54 newly hatched Hawkbill Turtles into the ocean.

The turtle hatchlings — incredibly — found the ocean on their own, with no help or nudging from us. How do they know where to go and how to swim right after they are hatched? Well, they do. Sea turtles are born with the instinct to move toward the brightest direction.

The Oracabessa Bay Sea Turtle Project, under Mel’s extraordinary leadership, provides incubation support and the safe release of these endangered creatures.

Greece

Peloponnese, Greece, is home to the legendary Mycenae Archaeological Site, one of the most important ancient sites in the country and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once the heart of the powerful Mycenaean civilization (1600–1100 BCE), this ancient citadel was famously linked to King Agamemnon, the leader of the Greeks in Homer’s Iliad. Today, visitors can walk through the remnants of this Bronze Age city, exploring its massive stone walls, royal tombs, and iconic Lion Gate, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding Argolid countryside.

1. The Lion Gate, adorned with a pair of stone lions, serves as the monumental entrance to the citadel and is one of the most iconic symbols of ancient Greek architecture.

2. The Treasury of Atreus (or Tomb of Agamemnon), a massive beehive-shaped tomb, impresses visitors with its monumental scale and perfectly preserved corbelled dome.

This city known for its wine is just gorgeous. Though hot in summer, it is stunning! Definitely worth a visit and if you have time the surroundings small town also known for their wine. 

In Bordeaux, be sure to walk down rue sainte Catherine, the longest pedestrian street in Europe! There will be plenty of shopping to do, and the main square with the cathedral is also a must see. The bell tower is not attached to the church and is able to be climbed for gorgeous views.
