You’ll be picked up from Barcelona in private transport, and Marta will use the drive to provide context and share her personal connection to the area. Your first stop is a family-run bodega in the Penedès. Here, you’ll walk through the vineyard, visit the 15th-century family chapel, and enjoy a cava tasting paired with a tapas-style brunch.

You’ll then travel onward by cable car, which offers wide panoramic views, arriving at the monastery to visit the throne of Our Lady of Montserrat and explore the monastic complex. At the end of the day, you’ll return to Barcelona by private transport.

Bodega Visit and Tasting

Marta recommends leaving the private transport aside for the final stretch. This is so you can take the cable car from the base of Montserrat up to the monastery, which is located 720 meters above sea level. The cable car offers a truly stunning panoramic view of the surrounding landscape not available via any other method.

Once you've arrived, you'll enter the Cathedral and get to approach the throne where the famous Black Madonna sits. The Monastery and Cathedral has been built bit-by-bit for centuries, and you'll get to enjoy various architectural styles ranging from Gothic to Baroque.

You'll have a moment to enjoy a coffee and a snack while taking in the breathtaking views.
