Corn has been a core element of the Mexican diet for thousands of years. Archaeologists have found maize cobs dating back to 4300 BC. Traditionally, the ingredient represented sustenance, fertility, and ancestral wisdom.

In this food workshop, you'll discover why corn is a much more diverse plant than you might imagine. You will also learn, hands-on, using traditional tools and the Nixtamal process, how to transform this magical ingredient into a tortilla.

After making your own quesadilla and salsa, you'll take a brief walk through the neighborhood and enjoy a couple of taquería pit stops. This 6.5-hour, truly exclusive experience intertwines poetry, cuisine, and dialogue in a highly personalized setting in Santiago, Chile. Starting with a sensory journey through the La Vega and Mercado Central food markets, you will procure the freshest ingredients for the grand finale. But before then—a rendezvous at the former address of Chile's most famous denizen of the past. Now a museum, La Chascona was where Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda worked magic both as a writer and gourmand.

The main course of the experience is served at the home of your host in Barrio Bellavista, where the morning's haul is transformed into Caldillo de Congrio (conger chowder), accompanied by premium Chilean wines. This aromatic fish soup was the dish Neruda prepared to welcome guests at his private residences in Santiago, Valparaíso, and Isla Negra. His experience is curated to take you through every stage of the process—from chatting with a fishmonger who has run her stall for 50 years in Santiago’s oldest fish market to sautéing the oil and layering flavor into the chowder. Hosted by a professional photographer from Buenos Aires, this tango photography experience takes place in the vibrant neighborhood of La Boca. Playing out on the pedestrianized street of Caminito, you will meet two professional and award winning tango dancers before capturing incredible images of them performing to the backdrop of the colorful, mismatched tenement houses La Boca is famed for. Sporting full costume and make-up, the dancers are happy to answer any questions you have about this art form. 

The experience starts over a cup of coffee in a cafe where Bernardo will discuss the best camera settings for capturing tango on the street. He will address compositional tips, focusing techniques, and working with moving subjects. This is an opportunity to ask any questions and get to grips with the functionality of your camera or device (smartphones are welcome). As the activity progresses, he will continue to impart knowledge and mentor you throughout.

If you’re the kind of traveler who feels shy about photographing people on the street, then this experience takes care of that. Hosted by a professional Porteño photographer whose work appears in publications all over the world, you will partake in a private photography session with two tango dancers in La Boca. This dancing duo will be dressed in full costume and make-up and you will have the opportunity to chat before and during the experience—providing a rare access moment to learn about this art form from those who practice it and take a closer look at the fashion.The setting itself couldn't be more appropriate. After all, La Boca is one of the barrios of Buenos Aires where tango found its feet in the 19th century. 

Bernardo will art direct the shoot, indicating where and how the dancers should pose while at the same time assisting you with your camera settings and composition. All you need to worry about is taking compelling photos and feeling the rhythm!

Disko Bay is the Iceberg Factory for 10% of Greenland's icebergs. Sadly, production has increased in recent years, with Spring melts as early as April.

Nothing prepares you for the disorientation - and wonderment - of the brilliance of a midnight Sun. Especially when surrounded by massive icebergs that reflect and mirror the sky and the sea.

I don't remember seeing this yesterday, I tell the boat captain, is this a new work of art? He laughs, and tells me that everyday is  a bit different. 

The midnight boat trip in end-July - as the sun sets just for a few minutes - is the best time to see the sky’s amazing colors reflected on the icebergs.

Iceberg Factory

The Nejjarine Museum of Wooden Arts & Crafts in located inside the ancient Fes Medina and is renowned for its comprehensive display of woodcraft but also for its unique architectural features that make a visit here a memorable experience. Why visit?
1. One of the standout attractions within the museum is the elegant fountain located in the courtyard. Beautifully adorned with intricate wood and tile work, it exemplifies the fine craftsmanship typical of Moroccan artistry and offers a tranquil centerpiece to the museum’s architecture.

Museo de Bellas Artes

Philippines

This was my first time visiting Gigantes Islands, and I was struck by the raw beauty of its cliffs and crystal-clear waters that surround its secluded beaches. There are several islands that you can hop in to and my favorite one is what the locals call the “mini boracay” because the sand sure feels like that in Boracay. Other islands are as equally awesome like the Bantigue sandbar, and Cabugay. We also explored the local neighborhood and sure has its own interesting stories. For one, I discovered that due to the abundance of scallops in the island, there’s a neighborhood that stands on a land area that’s made up of scallop shells that is meters thick! Just imagine how much scallops shells that would’ve taken. There’s a lot to explore but if you just want something that’s relaxed, you can just have a good beer by the beach from sunset til night. 

Gigantes Islands

Narrows hike in Zion is a fun and challenging hike that people of all ages can try out.  Just take the free shuttle bus from the Zion visitor center to the final stop (Temple of Sinawava) and hike the riverside trail until it ends.  Great views of Zion Canyon from within!

Museo dell'Opificio delle Pietre Dure, translating to "Workshop of semi-precious stones", represents much more than its name suggests. 1 - The Opificio delle Pietre Dure's origin lies in the establishment of a court-funded laboratory by Ferdinando I de' Medici.
