This experience takes you through the North side of Cappadocia covering the region’s most iconic sites. You’ll start at the Göreme National Park taking in the views of the surreal volcanic landscape where mammoths once roamed. Then enjoy a short walk among the fairy chimneys and the pigeon houses admiring the manmade wall paintings. After a traditional lunch, you’ll stop in Avanos, a town with a rich pottery-making tradition dating back to the Hittites, a civilization that settled in Turkey around 2000 BC. You’ll witness the artisans at work and sample regional wines before continuing towards the Imagination Valley (Devrent), where naturally sculpted rocks take on intriguing shapes that resemble animals and other figures. Nestled in the heart of Santorini’s charming Megalochori village, this immersive experience takes place in a restored 1950s cave house—dug into volcanic rock and full of character. Hosts Paula and George welcome you into their “stone kitchen” to roll up your sleeves and take part in a hands-on preparation of a classic Greek feast, side by side with your hosts.

Guided by Paula and George, you’ll chop, roll, stir, and season while learning the stories behind time-honored recipes, from tzatziki to tomato fritters to melt-in-your-mouth main dishes. The menu changes with the seasons, and so does the energy—it’s part cooking lesson, part gathering.

Meet Pierre in the heart of Bordeaux and start your experience with a walk through the historic Saint-Michel district, where you’ll stop at a local café to get to know the neighborhood. Over coffee or tea, Pierre will share stories from his daily life and explain how his studio fits into this historic and lively area.

Back at the atelier, you’ll explore the origins of photography and learn about wet plate collodion—a 19th-century technique that uses glass or metal plates, chemical baths, and a large format camera. Pierre will guide you step by step as you coat, sensitize, expose, and develop your own image.

Watching your portrait come to life is a striking visual moment: deep contrasts, delicate textures, and a vintage feel that’s hard to find elsewhere. While your image slowly appears, Pierre shares family stories and his personal view of Bordeaux and photography. You can also choose to shoot outdoors and include a glimpse of the city in your portrait.

The uniqueness of this experience lies in the physicality of the process and the one-of-a-kind result. Wet plate collodion photography doesn’t aim to imitate the past—it uses an early technique to craft images that are singular, dense, and deeply present. Each portrait is shaped by light and chemistry, with a richness of tones and details that can’t be replicated.

Pierre Wetzel has spent years refining this 19th-century process, working entirely with a large-format camera and mastering the subtle balance of materials and timing. Fixing Time in Saint-Michel

You’ll meet Pierre at his studio, Maison Spectre, located at 29–31 Rue des Faures.

Pierre Wetzel is a Bordeaux-based photographer known for his dedication to wet plate collodion, a 19th-century photographic process that he has mastered over years of experimentation. He lives and works in the Saint-Michel district, where he runs his studio and regularly collaborates on community-based art projects that connect photography with local stories and social engagement.

Portugal

This full-day experience explores the Douro Valley’s cultural and culinary heritage beyond winemaking. 

Departing from Porto, you'll travel east towards Vila Real, where you'll visit the Mateus Palace, an 18th-century Baroque estate known for its grand architecture, reflective pools, and manicured gardens. Inside, richly furnished rooms and a private chapel offer a glimpse into Portugal’s aristocratic past. The palace also maintains an archive and library, preserving records of regional history, agriculture, and family lineage.

From there, you’ll head to the Sabrosa area for a tasting with a local beekeeper, sampling honeys shaped by the native flora of the region—acacia, chestnut, rosemary, and heather among them. Lunch follows at a vineyard estate, where traditional Douro dishes are paired with local wines in a quiet setting surrounded by vines. After a stop at a scenic viewpoint and a soothing solar boat ride overlooking the valley’s terraced hills, you'll return to Porto.
