Karagöz performances were a staple of Ottoman life, used as a platform for satire and social commentary, often held in coffeehouses and public squares​. 

During this hands-on workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to visit Cengiz’s atelier and craft your own shadow figure using traditional materials like camel leather. First of all, we will meet with the attendees at our puppet museum located in, Faikpaşa Caddesi which is full of old buildings, antique and creative stores. We will make a small tour for the collection we have in the puppet museum from all over the world. After the small tour, we will have local tea and cookies with the attendees. We will start to explain the written history that we have from the beginning 16th century: how Karagöz traveled, how he expanded and how he lives today.  
Then we will get our tools to experience the process of making: 
- Deciding which part of Karagöz will be made, 
- shaping the camel leather with special tools(cutting, carving, piercing) 
- Painting the figure
(Tips of shaping the leather will be shared.)
Finally, with a full figure, all attendees see and experience of acting the figure on a shadow theatre curtain.

With Hugo, a professional photographer, you follow the traces of Henri Cartier-Bresson, the great humanist photographer of everyday Paris, in a walk where photographic history meets present-day image-making. Starting near La Chapelle and moving through Montmartre, Saint-Lazare, Palais Royal, and the Seine, the experience focuses on a selection of places where Cartier-Bresson took his photographs. Hugo invites you to reflect on how Cartier-Bresson achieved his signature look, known as "the decisive moment".

By comparing Paris in photographs from the 1930s to the 1950s with the same places today, you engage with the city in a new way. As you walk, observe, and frame Paris, you step into Cartier-Bresson’s way of looking and gain a deeper understanding of his art through the places that marked it. Everyday gestures, passing figures and famous landmarks as well as ordinary corners become part of the experience, turning Paris into a living field of attention.

What gives this experience its particular character is Hugo’s eye. A professional photographer with deep knowledge of Henri Cartier-Bresson’s images, he built this walk from a personal point of connection: La Chapelle, where he lives, and where Cartier-Bresson made the photograph later included in the 2021 exhibition Revoir Paris.

Reflecting on her childhood, she recalls the close-knit neighborhood where people relied on one another. Carnival—an annual February tradition—was central. Lucía remembers it too; her grandmother was a seamstress who hand-stitched elaborate costumes each year. 

The essence of Andalusia, María José says, is best experienced not through spectacles, but through shared moments. Conversations in taverns. Crafts passed down through generations. Hospitality that’s unforced and real. Strangers are often welcomed like friends—invited into homes, kitchens, or village fiestas. Here, you’re never just an observer.

There’s growing interest in pairing cultural travel with nature, wellness, and gastronomy. Think horseback safaris, slow treks, and olive oil tastings under ancient trees. The Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art (CAAC), situated in the historically rich Monastery of Santa Maria de las Cuevas on the Isla de la Cartuja in Seville, is a premier institution for contemporary art in Andalusia. Established in February 1990, the CAAC aims to foster research, conservation, promotion, and dissemination of contemporary art. The transformation of the former Carthusian monastery into the CAAC's headquarters in 1997 marked a significant development in its mission, blending the rich heritage of the site with the dynamism of contemporary artistic expressions​​. Why visit?
1. The CAAC houses a diverse collection that spans artistic trends from the mid-20th century to the present, featuring works by notable artists such as Luis Gordillo, Candida Höfer, and Louise Bourgeois.
2. The Monastery of Santa Maria de las Cuevas, where the CAAC is located, offers visitors not just art but a journey through history. The monastery, with its Mudéjar architecture, showcases the evolution from a religious site to a pottery factory by Charles Pickman in the 19th century, and finally to a contemporary art centre. CAAC: Modern Meets Monastic

Someone described #Churchill as “the warmest coldest tundra town”. It is a friendly, curious town. It also claims to have 300 days of northern lights. 

Basically, if you happen to be in Churchill on a clear night, prepare to wake up, dress up in layers (quickly), and be enthralled. 

Last Sunday night, when most had turned back in after what looked like an “average” aurora display, we waited and were rewarded with lovely green ribbons and curtains.

Dancing Dragons Across The Sky

The Akrotiri Lighthouse, perched on the southwestern tip of Santorini, is one of the island’s most iconic and scenic landmarks. Built in 1892, this historic lighthouse is renowned for its stunning views of the Aegean Sea and dramatic sunsets. While the lighthouse itself is not open to the public, the surrounding area offers a peaceful and picturesque spot to admire the rugged coastline and soak in the natural beauty of Santorini. 
1. The panoramic views from the lighthouse are breathtaking, offering sweeping vistas of the caldera, the Aegean Sea, and the cliffs of Santorini. 
2. The sunset experience here rivals that of Oia, but with far fewer crowds, making it a more tranquil and intimate spot to watch the day end. 
3. The lighthouse is a historic landmark, representing one of Greece’s oldest and most beautiful lighthouses, with its classic whitewashed design blending harmoniously with the rugged landscape. 
4. The surrounding cliffs and coastline create a dramatic backdrop, perfect for photography and quiet reflection. 
5. The area is easily accessible by car or scooter, and the short walk to the lighthouse offers lovely views along the way. 
Visitor Tip: Plan to spend 30 minutes to 1 hour at the lighthouse, especially during sunset for incredible views and photo opportunities. Bring sturdy shoes if you want to explore the rocky surroundings and stay for the golden hour to capture the lighthouse and caldera bathed in soft light.

Akrotiri Lighthouse

Megalochori Village is one of Santorini’s most charming and picturesque settlements, offering a serene escape from the island’s busier spots. Known for its narrow cobblestone streets, traditional Cycladic architecture, and vibrant history, this quaint village is a delightful blend of cultural heritage and modern-day hospitality. Megalochori is a hidden gem where time seems to slow down, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and exploration. 
1. The village is filled with whitewashed houses, bougainvillea-draped courtyards, and blue-domed churches, creating a postcard-perfect setting for leisurely strolls. 
2. Its iconic bell towers, such as the one at the entrance of the village square, are among the most photographed landmarks in Santorini. 
3. Megalochori is home to historic mansions and cave houses, many of which have been beautifully restored into boutique accommodations and wineries. 
4. The village is a hub for traditional wineries, where visitors can sample local Assyrtiko wines and learn about Santorini’s winemaking traditions. 
5. Quiet alleys and peaceful squares offer a glimpse into authentic village life, with friendly locals and inviting taverns serving fresh Greek cuisine. 
Visitor Tip: Spend 1.5 to 2 hours exploring Megalochori at a relaxed pace. Visit in the late afternoon for softer lighting and fewer crowds, and consider staying for dinner at one of the village’s cozy tavernas.
